Baylor College of Medicine Graduate Medical Education Educational Leave Exemption Request

Exemption from the GME Policy on Paid Time Off may only be requested for educational leave involving activities which add value to the trainee’s experience and reputation of the College. For example,

*Allowed activity to seek exemption: Presentation at National Conference *Not an allowed activity to seek exemption: Trainee sitting for board exams

Please be advised that all requests will not be approved. It is expected that trainees and programs will use the allowed days judiciously.

Requests which are ten days or under beyond the nine (9.0) provide PTO days will be reviewed by the GME Office, and approved/denied by the Senior Associate or Assitant Dean for GME. Requests which are in excess of 10 additional days will require submission to the GMEC Executive Committee.
