WESTERN AUSTRALIA REGIONAL ORCHID ORGANISATION (WAROO) 2017 CONFERENCE & SHOW SCHEDULE NOTES TO BE HELD AT THE RENDEVZOUS HOTEL SCARBOROUGH BEACH ON SATURDAY 5th AND SUNDAY 6th AUGUST 2017 SET UP FRIDAY 4 th AUGUST BETWEEN 8.00AM & 10.00AM FOR INDIVIDUAL PLANTS AND 8.00AM & 4.15PM FOR DISPLAYS

ENTRIES FOR JUDGING ACCEPTED– FRIDAY 4th AUGUST between 8 and 10AM FOR INDIVIDUAL PLANTS AND 8.00AM to 4.15PM FOR DISPLAYS.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY IN COMPETITION: a. Entries are received on the basis that the WAOC Committee will take reasonable care of exhibits but shall not be responsible for any loss, destruction or damage and the owner shall have no claim whatsoever against the either the WAOS Committee WJOS or WAROO. b. The Show Marshall reserves the right to refuse to accept any plant or bloom tendered for exhibition. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor that any plant or bloom exhibited be free of insect infestation, and free of disease. c. All plants exhibited shall have been the property of and grown by the exhibitor for a period of not less than six months. d. Entries to be nominated by the exhibitor. e. All plants and blooms shall be correctly labeled by the exhibitor, showing the name of the plant i.e.: genus and species or variety name as applicable if known the section and class in which entered plus the display number (if being used in a club display after judging). Section cards are available from society/club Secretary’s and must be attached to the plant with the clip provided only. NB Entries in the “Seedling” class need to be on a RED entry card and “Species” on a YELLOW card. f. When exhibiting a Paphiopedilum primary hybrid the parent species must be listed on the back of the card. g. If, in the opinion of the Judges, any exhibit does not warrant a prize they may elect not to make an award. h. The Show Marshall reserves the right to remove or rearrange an exhibit except in floral classes until judging commences. The Show Marshall may be requested to remove or rearrange plants by the judges only after judging has commenced. i. No plant or bloom shall be moved or manipulated by the exhibitor or his or her agent prior to the termination of the exhibition except with the express permission of the Show Marshall. j. FOR FURTHER INFORMATION RELATING TO RULES RELATING TO DIFFERENT GENERA SEE THE “STANDARD SHOW SCHEDULE NOTES” VALID FROM 1ST JANUARY 2017. k. ANY PLANT ENTERED IN THE WRONG CLASS WILL NOT BE JUDGED. l. ALL PLANTS/FLOWERS & CUT FLOWERS WILL BE JUDGED TO AOC RULES. All cut flowers must be from a grower outside 250 kms from Perth GPO. Any exhibitor in doubt as to which class to enter a plant should seek the advice of the Registrar of Judges, or the Chairman of the Judging Panel and have entry card signed by them. ENTRIES: Entries may be lodged with the Secretary or any member of the Show Committee between the hours of 8.00am and 10.00am on FRIDAY 4th August 2017.

NO LATE ENTRIES ACCEPTED FLORAL CLASSES - Entries must be lodged by 3.30pm FRIDAY 4th AUGUST 2017. Judging standards for Floral Art are available from the Registrar or Club Secretary. Judging will be carried out by independent judges (not AOC) FLORAL ART (& DISPLAY) – THEME – “Scarborough Fair” Closing time of the Show will be 4.00pm SUNDAY 6th August 2017. No plant shall be removed before this time without the express permission of the Show Marshall.
