Recording Injuries

A register of injuries and first-aid treatment must be kept at the school which records:  the name, age and address of the injured person  the operation in which the person was engaged at the time of injury  the date and time and injury occurred  a brief description of the type, cause and location of the injury and the treatment given  the name of the first-aid person in attendance  any referral for further treatment if required

The Principal must ensure that:

 the required information is recorded in the injury register  the register is made available for inspection when requested by an inspector  the records are kept for a least five years.

The register may be combined with any other register that must be kept according to other legislation.
