GRAPHIC DESIGN TWO DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS: Graphic Design Two is an advanced designing and drawing course with Graphic Design One as a prerequisite course that was completed with a grade of B or above. The Elements of Art and Principles of Design are used as the course foundation. After reviewing Graphic Design One basics, students are instructed in advanced studio lessons. The course is setup as a studio class, students build on drawing basics. Students are required to gather information to complete assignments. Students gather information on designing and drawing skill techniques, methods and ideas from Internet artists and published and local artists, and fellow classroom artists and the instructor- based projects. A variety of designing and drawing mediums are introduced and used to successfully complete classroom projects. Course mediums include traditional drawing mediums and contemporary mediums such as computer art software and computer drawing tablets.

GRAPHIC DESIGN TWO GOALS: - Students are self-motivated to create and complete individual projects within the unit of study. -Students are required to keep a classroom visual journal/sketchbook. -Students are expected to utilize class time and successfully complete assigned projects, students take project information/supplies home to complete assignments -Students will keep notes and makeup work that they missed due to absences following school guidelines. -Students refine as a creative artist with visualization and perception skills, as well as drawing and design skills, successfully translating them into advanced level art works. -Students develop confidence in designing and drawing through understanding and properly learning to use; designing and drawing tools, techniques, methods and a variety of inspirational sources. –Student enjoy the creative process through appreciation for different artists and artistic styles and personal artistic development. –Students will develop a successful portfolio and visual journal/sketchbook. -Students are required to display art work, each student will do one bulletin board display of their at school and enter art shows in our local area. They are required to come to art show receptions. Students will post to an online gallery. CLASSROOM RULES AND STUDENT EXPECTATIONS: 1. Have a positive attitude , be willing to excel with patience and practice . 2. Treat EVERYONE and EVERYTHING in the class room with respect. Listen to instruction without interruption, focus on assignments work quietly. 3. Be on time, you are seated when the bell rings; otherwise you will be marked tardy. (3) tardies = after school detention. 4. You are not dismissed until you have cleaned up your area and are seated. 5. NO FOOD OR DRINKS ARE ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM. WATER IS ACCEPTABLE WHEN CAPPED AND PLACED ON THE FLOOR. 6. Not working on assignments is not acceptable for this class. 7. All classroom assignments/homework assignments are to be completed on time. . 8. All art work must be signed (first and last name) on the front bottom right or left. Worksheets, quizzes etc. require a first and last name signature please. 9. No profane language or subject matter allowed. 10. NO COPING from any source, do your own work.
