Important information for Northern GA II COGIC

One of particular interest to me is the one called Fund Raising Factory. I will personally work with you to launch that one so we can possibly get some monies for our YIA Activities for 2016.

The Funding Factory Since 1997, the Funding Factory" has pioneered and leads the way in Fundraising Through Recycling. The Funding Factory has launched a unique Cell Phone Recycling Program. Collect and recycle empty printer cartridges to earn technology, sports and recreation equipment or even cash. This provides you with another way to capitalize on the fundraising-through- recycling concept. Simply collect used cell phones from parents and local business and you will earn points just like the printer cartridge program. Ongoing deadline. GameStop Youth

I found a resource from one of the UI Training's that gives some key tips to folks who are going to be writing Grants. Let me know if this will helps your cause. I think that if we get a small quick victory and nab a Grant that we can build some inertia within our Jurisdiction and then go for a bigger one.

I really am interested in hearing your thoughts on the Fund Raising Factory Project.

Yours Servant in Christ, Elder Mark L. Walden

Walden

Scholastic Motivation Ministry (SMM) Northern Georgia Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction COGIC Critique Meeting Saturday, March 21, 2015

The meeting was called to order by President Gwendolyn Bonner. Prayer by: Sister Venessa Harris. Minutes were read and approved. Treasurer’s Report $2,153.26 Elder Williams has prepared a sign in sheet for our convenience; we only need to place a check mark by our name for attendance. “Thank you Elder Boris”.

A suggestion letter was received and read from Miss’y Diann O’Neal, which stated that YIA 2015 was a wonderful, spiritual event with the addition of our special guest, Brother Ahmad Hall Minister of Music, who has a COGIC back grown; he is from a Methodist Church in Kennesaw, GA. Miss’y Diann requested that we invite him back for YIA Day 2016. All so suggestions were made to 1) allow Oratorical winner to recite his/her speech during our award ceremony; 2) re- implement the Fashion Show and 3) restore the Math Competition event for YIA 2016. Everyone agreed with all of the suggestions. We will need a Coordinator for the Fashion Show, so please spread the word. Miss’y Lewis has agreed to return to our Math event for YIA Day 2016. Registration – We had a total of 750 registered participants for SMM 2015. Miss’y Gamble sent letters out to each church, at her own expense, to inform Pastors of Open Registration Day inform and the value of early registration, but she still received most packets on the Closing Registration day. At the meeting we voted to have Open Registration for SMM 2016, to start on August 8, 2015, we are hoping that this will improve compliance. STEM - Coordinator Miss’y Lewis stated that there were 4 Science Fair Project participants for 2015 that were judged, they received a Certificate of participation. Miss’y Lewis had 20 youth in her STEM class all had a great time; Deacon Fred Lewis is our new STEM Coordinator for 2016. Elder Jones - Program Coordinator suggested that we allow our Youth to pick next year’s Theme, Song and Scripture, with a deadline by June 7, 2015. We discussed having a conference call meeting on June 13, 2015. The time was voted and agreed upon for 2100 hours, (9:00 pm). Sister Harris will send Elder Bennie the phone number for our conference call. Miss’y Tressy Jones - Spelling Coordinator had a lot of youth in her 1st session class and hardly any in her second session; also added that the classroom needs more chairs and she needs a holding room for YIA Day 2016. Bible Recitation and Oratorical were well supported, possibly due to not having our Math Competition. Elder Sylvester Turner, Middle GA District - Will conduct a new Adult “Effective Teaching” class for SMM 2016. Prayer Room went well. The Adjutant Class will be every other year. Sister Harris will contact Aleshia Williams to post on Facebook and Twitter the SMM suggestion for our Youth come up with our Theme, Scripture and Song for 2016.
