3:00 PM – 5:00 PM MHTA Board Meeting and planning . Officers and Conference Planning Committee should plan to meet to finalize and prepare for conference 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM Dinner on your own . Downtown Bay City 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM Delta Planetarium – “The Black Hole” ($7 admission fee)

Friday, January 23 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM Registration and Breakfast All Day Silent Auction – Help support the MHTA scholarship fund *8:00 AM – 8:30 AM State/MAAE Updates *8:30 AM – 9:30 AM Environmental Education – Presented by Terry Benson from Appledore Environmental Sail Programs. The mission of Appledore is to foster environmental stewardship of the Saginaw Bay Watershed and the Great Lakes ecosystem and to provide personal development opportunities of all ages through ship board and land based educational experiences. *9:30 AM – 10:30 AM Saginaw Valley State University – Curriculum Opportunities in Agriscience – Presented by Martin Arford and Edward Meisel This session will explore the opportunities for students and teachers to work with SVSU in Agriscience Education. 10:30 AM – 10:45 AM Break *10:45 AM – 12:00 PM Teachers Teaching Teachers – Dupont Agriscience Labs Presented by Bailey Garwood In this session participants will have the opportunity to participate in a Dupont Agriscience Lab as a student and apply the materials as a teacher. 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM Lunch and Annual Meeting (including officer elections)

*1:00 PM – 1:45 PM Teachers Teaching Teachers - Inquiry Based Learning – Presented by Jen Glomboski *1:45 PM – 3:00PM Teachers Teaching Teachers - Bio Energy – Lora Finch & Beth Hager 3:00 PM – 3:30 PM Break/ Travel Time to Saginaw Valley Flower Exchange *3:30 PM – 5:00 PM Saginaw Valley Flower Exchange tour & Hands on Workshop – Kim Huber Participants will tour a working floral wholesaler and then have the opportunity to explore corsage making with Kim Huber. Participants will learn “new” and “trendy” techniques which will be appealing to high school students. 6:15 PM – 8:00 PM Dinner and Annual Awards Banquet – Join us for dinner at the Atrium in downtown Bay City. The MHTA Teacher of the Year and Resource Person of the Year will be presented.

Saturday, January 24th 7:30 AM – 8:00 AM Breakfast & Silent Auction close out 8:00 AM – 8:30 AM Check out & Travel to Bay Arenac Career Center *8:30 AM – 9:30AM Teachers Teaching Teachers – Presented by Cathy LaLonde - Asexual propagation lessons - stem propagation procedures using stock plants - everyone will propagate scented geraniums and jade plants. 9:30AM – 10:00AM Break & Tour of Bay Arenac Career Center *10:00AM – 11:00AM Teachers Teaching Teachers – The Arthur Berkey Agriscience Fair – Presented by Liz Tomac Participants will learn the basics of the Agriscience Fair Competition and will have the information to prepare students to compete in this Career Development Event. *11:00AM – 12:00PM Teachers Teaching Teachers - AgEdNet – Presented by Cathy LaLonde. Participants will learn about AgEdNet and the online lessons available. Examples of how to integrate this material into the current Michigan Agriscience curriculum will be given. Participants will be given the opportunity to explore the site and its benefits
