Who makes the best guacamole? Local Chefs and Foodies will find out at MANNA’s first annual Guac-Off

Philadelphia, PA…MANNA is counting on guacamole lovers everywhere to make their first annual

“Guac-Off” a success…and early results show it’s an easy win for this small but energetic non-profit located in center city Philadelphia.

The brainchild of MANNA employee Katelyn Baron, MANNA’s “Guac-Off” takes place on Sunday,

June 23rd in South Philadelphia and features 15 contestants making their own versions of everyone’s favorite appetizer, guacamole. The event runs from 1pm to 4pm and takes place at the Fleisher Art

Memorial, 719 Catharine Street in South Philadelphia.

Contestants run the gamut from Adan Trinidad, head Chef at Jose Pistolas restaurant, to 8 year old Allison Flam of Media. Flam has been making guacamole for two years and says, “my favorite part is scooping out the gushy stuff inside the avocado.” She is excited about competing with the “grown-ups” and serving her samples to over 130 guests expected to attend.

All you can eat tasting samples are available to all guests along with cocktails provided by El

Dorado Demerara Rum and beer, wine and water provided by MANNA. There will be a small charge for all beverages.

Guac-Off ensure that we’ll always be there to feed those who are sick.” MANNA provides meals for those with cancer, cardiac and renal disease, HIV/AIDS, diabetes and other life threatening illnesses.

Guac-Off tickets are $20 and for an additional donation of $5 attendees can enter a raffle. Tickets are available by calling MANNA at (215) 496 2662, ext. 137 or going to www.mannapa.org/guac-off. All proceeds benefit MANNA.
