Job Purpose Reporting to the Director, Student Transitions and Careers, the Co-ordinator – Employer and Recruiter Relations is responsible for all aspects of employer and educational recruiter relationship development for the Peterborough campus. This includes playing a lead systems and technical role in overseeing the Student Experience Portal. The portal is used for relationship management, event management, e-commerce, jobs postings, co-curricular record, and online appointment booking.

Key Activities Student Experience Portal System Administration; 1. Works closely with Director on all departmental technical concerns relating to the Student Experience Portal (e.g. hardware and software upgrades, research and recommendations on technical purchases, identification of new technologies and software that may be useful to the department, technical project management and support). 2. Responsible for the following system activities (in consultation with the team): • configuring system modules • managing staff account access • assigning roles and permissions • trouble shooting technical problems • ensuring content pages are maintained and accurate • training staff and students in the use of the system • coaching employers and staff/faculty in the use of the system 3. Manages and tracks all activities and interactions in the Student Experience Portal. This includes, but is not limited to, maintaining database on recruiter contacts, co- ordinating mass mailing and e-mail campaigns, approving new registrations, and compiling statistics and reports on Career Centre usage.

Job Number: A-280 Page 1 of 3 Last updated: August 17, 2015 4. Responsible for collaboration with software developers (external and internal) on the development of required departmental technology. Responsibilities also include testing of applications in development phases, use of reporting tools and resolving major technology issues related to software.

Relationship Management; 1. Proactively develops and monitors all aspects of relationship development and recruitment activity (i.e. employer, educational, volunteer) for students and alumni. 2. Promotes Trent, students, and academic programs, to recruiters through the creation/maintenance/distribution of promotional and informational materials, print and online. 3. Attends relevant employer and organization meetings and leverages association and membership connections. 4. Develops internal relationships with Trent faculty and staff for the purpose of partnerships and the circulation of relevant recruitment information. 5. Responds to all recruiter inquiries – phone, email, walk-ins.

Event Management; 1. Co-ordinates, administers, and implements career-related events, Alumni panels, employer information and table sessions. 2. Works closely with the colleges and academic departments to develop partnerships for events and initiatives. Responsibilities may include playing a lead role in collaborative events, event registration and marketing to prospective attendees, logistics, budget, assessment and final reporting.

General Administration; 1. Provides direction to student staff (in Peterborough and Oshawa) and/or liaises with the TCSA/TOSA for the following: • Handling room and/or table bookings for on-campus recruitment. • Posting jobs, volunteer opportunities, internships • Marketing for career events (in consultation with the Career Resource Advisor) • Updating the Career Centre web site and content on the Student Experience Portal 2. Provides Career Centre coverage on a limited basis. This may include assisting in responding to student inquiries in person, on the phone, and via e-mail. 3. Prepares final reports for all career related events and relationship development activities.

Education Undergraduate (Honours) or Graduate University Degree, preference given to applicants with a Business Degree.

Experience Required  2-3 years’ experience in public relations/promotions and employer/recruiter relations, including one year experience in event planning as well as a minimum of one year of experience in providing system administration/technical support in a professional setting.  Professional communication skills; must possess a diversity of interpersonal skills to deal with the wide range of employer and student perspectives.  Exceptional organizational and time management skills; able to handle multiple priority tasks and deadlines simultaneously.  Demonstrated technical skills. Experience with database systems, website design and content management.  Business process and system analysis experience.  Demonstrated event planning skills.  Superior public speaking and presentation skills.  Demonstrated ability to work as part of a small team.  Able to work in a fast-paced environment.  Knowledge of labour market trends, job search techniques and employability skills an asset.  Knowledge of career and employment resources, print and online an asset.  Knowledge and experience with computers and software, such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Access), Internet, E-mail, Social Media.  Ability to maintain confidentiality essential.
