This is not to say that perceptions across time and space do not change. Situations, especially unforeseen, critical ones can test the mettle of leaders and followers. Does the literature support this argument? You may want to do some reading on Hersey and Blanchard’s situational leadership theory. Here is a link that will give you a little more background in this approach to leadership: http://www.leadership-central.com/situational- leadership-theory.html#axzz4nll3u5t9.

Assignment 2 You did a very good job of analyzing how relational leadership would be effective in resolving an issue. I liked the thought of how family therapy techniques could be applied to relational leadership theory. However, you needed to provide supporting literature resources to support your discussion of the application of this approach.

Assignment 3 Therefore, these awakened leaders have a moral compass aligned with integrity, honesty, and personal interactions that value people and inspire trust. All of these qualities, some of which are innate and some of which are made, engender authenticity, followership and trust building among followers. Without such, leader-followership cannot emerge in the first place. How does the literature support this argument?

However, you need to apply leadership theory in your analysis more. His ability to draw upon the composite of experiences in South Korea and the U.S., his vision and its clarity coauthored the pathway to what he affectionately called “Fusion medicine.” Although this roughly equates integrative medicine combined with systems biology, his ability to articulate the concept, to communicate how it could be applied to serve the needs of various stakeholder groups truly earned him trust, authority and followership (Notgrass, 2014). These are the keys to leadership and its success! What leadership theory would support this argument? I would like to see more application of theory to your analysis to demonstrate your understanding of leadership theory.

Assignment 5 You present some interesting thoughts on ethical leadership as it applies to both business and higher education. You provide a detailed discussion of the College of DuPage and its former president’s unethical behaviors that cost the college, the county, the town, and reputation of higher education dearly. Later in your paper when you were discussing application of leadership theory, you were very general in your discussion and did not clearly identify which theory or theories might be most effective in preventing such unethical behavior. Would you say that as more and more higher education institutions are having funding cuts, that there might present more opportunities for unethical behaviors by leaders? Does unethical behavior only apply to financial matters or are their other areas where unethical behavior might take place? You limited your discussion to only one example of unethical behavior. You also needed to look at areas where administration and faculty have championed a cause that improved the status of their institution.

Assignment 6 You present some interesting information regarding the need for higher education to practice or implement change leadership approach to leading their organizations. How do you define change leadership? You indicate that this is very important in an ever-changing environment but you could have expanded on how this is applied more.
