HARROGATE SCHOOL SPORTS PARTNERSHIP YEAR 3/4/5/6 INDIVIDUALS CROSS COUNTRY EVENT
Dear Parent/Guardian,
Your son/daughter is invited to take part in the Harrogate School Sports Partnership Individual Cross Country Event being held at Harrogate High School on Saturday 15th October 2016. The event will be held on the school playing fields with some parking available at Harrogate High School.
Registration for the event will commence at 9.00am for Year 3 girls and boys and Year 4 girls and boys at the gazebo upon arrival (will be signposted) with the first race (Year 3 girls) commencing at 9.30am. Year 5 girls and boys and Year 6 girls and boys registration will take place at 10am. Please ensure the registration times are adhered to so that participants do not miss their race. In total there will be 8 races. As it is a Saturday morning event we appreciate that you may not be able to stay until the end and so after your child’s finishing position has been recorded you are free to leave.
The criteria for progression to the L3 North Yorkshire School Games is decided on individual placings. This year the top 15 runners from each race will have their names recorded with the top 8 qualifying to compete at the Level 3 North Yorkshire School Games Cross Country Event which is usually held in March. Should any pupil not be able to take their place in the Level 3 County event we will invite the next placed runner. Year 3&4 Pupils will run approximately 1200m and Year 5&6 pupils will run approximately 1500m.
How to enter If you would like to enter your child into this event please complete the appropriate entry form found on our website homepage at www.harrogatessp.com .
On completion of the online registration form, a confirmation email will be sent to the parental email address provided with further information relating to the event. Please ensure that you double check you have entered your email address correctly.
Entry Deadline The deadline for entries is 12 noon on Monday 10th October 2016. Please note there are limited entries to this event due to car parking restrictions and health and safety requirements. NO late entries will be accepted.
