WWII - PEARL HARBOR STATISTICS

- Pearl Harbor was the homeport of the United States Navy Pacific Fleet.

- 0637 – US patrol bomber and the destroyer, USS Ward attack and sink a Japanese midget (two-man) submarine in restricted waters at the entrance of Pearl Harbor.

- First attack started on 7 DEC 1941 at 0755

- First wave of Japanese attack was launched at 0600 from 200 miles north of Pearl Harbor.

- First wave consisted of 183 aircraft including 40 torpedo planes, 49 level bombers, 51 dive bombers and 43 fighters.

- Second wave was launched at 0745 from 170 miles north of Pearl Harbor. It consisted of 170 planes including 54 level bombers, 80 dive bombers and 36 fighters.

- The Japanese Navy consisted of 65 ships including 4 heavy aircraft carriers, 2 heavy cruisers, 35 submarines, 2 light cruisers, 9 oilers, 2 battleships and 11 destroyers.

- Last of the Japanese attackers headed out for sea around 0945.

- Heavy aircraft carriers, the USS Lexington and USS Enterprise both out to sea at time of attack.

- Japan disappointed with results of attack since no USS carriers were destroyed.
