To login to Tyler Munis Employee Self Service (ESS) type the following URL: https://munisselfservice.mcisd.net/mss/

Once there, click on the words “Log In” as shown below

Fill in the details shown below: Your User ID is your Employee ID and your Initial Password is the last four digits of your SSN

Once you successfully login, you will be prompted to change your password:

1. Type in the last 4 digits of your SSN 2. Create a new password 3. Type the same password as #2 to confirm 4. Type in a phrase to help you remember your new password

When done, click on “Change”. If there are no errors, you will be presented the following prompt: Click “Continue” to access the ESS dashboard

Your employee name should appear on the upper right hand side. On the left hand side is the link for the Employee Self Service

To view your latest pay check, click on the “Show paycheck amounts”. This will show you the dollar amounts of your last check. To view your last check direct deposit, click on the icon. There are other options under the tools, they are:  Paycheck Simulator Allows you to do a simulation based on hours and deductions  View last Year’s W2 (N/A) Allows you to view W2 information  Change your W4 Allows you to change marital status and exemptions CHECK SIMULATOR

Pay cycle controls what deductions are taken for a simulation: For monthly staff, this should always be a 1 For Biweekly staff, it is the paycheck run for the month, for example: if you want to emulate what you would be making for the 1st payroll of the month, select 1. Select 2 if it is the second run for the month, and 3 if there is any. Note: Do not select 4 or 5 as they are not applicable

Fill in the number of hours you are working. Change the Marital status or exemptions Changing them here DO NOT change them permanently, this will be covered in another section of this guide.

To complete, click on “Calculate” and the following should come up: Remember that this tool is just an approximation and it’s not to be used as the final total for your check CHANGE YOUR W4

Here you can change your marital status and exemptions for Taxes In addition to being able to change this information, you may add or take away additional withholding amounts.

Edit the values you would want for your W4 and click on “Continue” to save.

CHANGING PERSONAL INFORMATION

To change your personal information such as your address, phone number, and email, click on the “Personal Information” link that appears when you click on the “Employee Self Service” link: To change your information, click on “Change”. This will enable the editor for your changes. Once done, click on “Update” to save.

LOGGING OFF To logout, click on your name on the upper right hand corner of the page as shown below, and choose the “Logout” option
