1. ORDINANCE 540 OF 2016: INTRODUCE AND SET FOR PUBLIC HEARING

THE TOWN OF BENTON ZONING ORDINANCE 120 OF 1981, BE HEREBY AMENDED BY CHANGING THE ZONING CLASSIFICATION FROM R-2 TO A B-3 ON THE TRACT OF LAND LOCATED AT THE 104 NORTH SIBLEY STREET

WHEREAS, the application of Timothy Chance for a Zoning Amendment has been approved and a recommendation by the Benton Parish MPC has been made to the Town Council to change the zoning classification of a 0.298 acre tract of land located at 104 North Sibley Street, Benton, in the Sections 29, Township 20 North, Range 13 West, Benton, Louisiana, from R-2; Multiple Family Residence district to B- 3 Community and Central Business District for a proposed commercial development of a classic car dealership office.

BE IT ORDAINED BY the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Benton, in legal session convened that the Town of Benton Zoning Ordinance 120 of 1981, be hereby amended by changing the zoning classification of a 0.298 acre tract of land located at 104 North Sibley Street, Benton, from a R-2; Multiple Family Residence district to B- 3 Community and Central Business District.

A motion by Alderman Jones, seconded by Alderman Hill to introduce and set for public hearing on May 9 PUBLIC COMMENTS: None ROLL CALL VOTE AYES: ALDERMAN WILLIE KELLY, ALDERMAN LINDA GATES, ALDERMAN RON JONES, AND ALDERMAN TOMMY HILL NAYS: NONE ABSTAIN: NONE ABSENT: ALDERMAN DONNA WYATT 2. BOSSIER PARISH FIRE DISTRICT # 4 BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS: APPOINTMENT TO FILL A VACANCY

NOMINATION OF MARVIN MYERS BY JOHNNY BARNETT HAS BEEN MADE TO FILL A VACANCY

A motion by Alderman Jones, seconded by Alderman Hill to approve Mr Marvin Myers.

A motion by Alderman Gates, seconded by Alderman Hill to approve the Fair Housing Proclamation

Mayor Cathcart presented James Jackson with his 10 Year service award.

Stephanie Collier announced the Special Session for adopting the Resolution for Calling an Election will be held on Monday, April 25 at Town Hall Council Chambers at 7:00 pm

A motion by Alderman Hill, seconded by Alderman Gates to adjourn the meeting
