Call To Order: The December 6, 2011 meeting was called to order at 3:20 p.m.

Approval of Agenda: Miles Vega added changing courses midyear. Motion: To approve December 6, 2011 agenda with modification. M/S/C: Hargis/Knutson

Approval of Minutes:

Motion: To approve the November 22, 2011 minutes. M/S/C: Vega/Knutson

Consent Items: 1. Math Associate of Arts Degree 2. APDS P101-Crafts 3. APDS P102-Ceramics 4. APDS P104-Jewelry 5. APDS P106-Advanced Ceramics 6. APDS P108-Advanced Jewelry

Motion: To delete all consent items. The Math AA degree is redundant with the Math Transfer degree. Hargis asked if students want to transfer to UC will this degree work. Miles Vega said that students will need to take additional courses such as ENGL P101B, Social Sciences courses, and Humanities courses. Jon Satko said that the Math Division did not want multiple Math Degrees. Richard Goode said that the Math Transfer Degree serves our students. M/S/C: Vega/Hargis

Motion: To approve Art P101, 103, 106, 107, 113, 114, 116, 123, and 124. Miles asked if there is a material fee and James Entz said the students buy their own supplies. No material fee is paid to the College. M/S/C: Hargis/Vega

Motion: To approve BIOL P105. M/S/C: Hargis/Davis

12. BSAD P011-Business Math Bret said that there were several SLOs for this course. Danny asked that the curriculum committee recommend a number of SLOs. Jay Hargis said due to SB-1440 he had to increase the number of SLOs for each History course.

Motion: Approval of CHDV P117, P118, P119, P121, P122, P142, CHDV P143, CHDV P144, CHDV P161, CHDV P239, CHDV P244, CHDV P245 with modifications. Miles said D-3 is checked for CHDV P117 and it should not be. The Instructional Office Specialist will remove. CHDV P118, CHDV P121, CHDV P161, CHDV P244, CHDV P245 should include Associate Degree applicable.

32. PHOT P101-Introduction to Photography

Motion: To approve PHOT P101. M/S/C: Vega/Hargis

33. STUDIO ART AA-T

Motion: To approve Studio Art AA-T. Modifications made to CNET and James Entz will correct the attachments. M/S/C: Hargis/Vega

Old Business: 1. ENGL P052-Course pending division CNET submission as basic skills. Implementation fall 2012.

Other: Miles Vega said that changes to courses effective beginning the spring term catches the students and counselors off guard. The counselors have done Education Plans for students that may be impacted by changes. He would like to see changes that impact units and prerequisites made during the fall instead of spring semester.

All new COA must specify if the Certificate is Gainful Employment. James Thompson said that the Communications COA should have the Gainful Employment Code 41-4011. Bill Henry said that any topic that is broad or generic could be a flagged. He said that it should be more defined. Curriculum Committee Meeting Minutes December 6, 2011 Page 5 of 5
