FLKRS Demographics Must Be Completed Before the ECHOS

FLKRS Reminders 2011

 Deadline for recording all data is OCTOBER 6, 2011. This includes the FLKRS Demographics, the ECHOS, and the FAIR BS/PMT and BDI.

 TDI tasks are not included in the FLKRS. The final date for TDI administration is October 27, 2011.

 FLKRS Demographics and ECHOS are located on the regular PMRN data management site at https://pmrn.fcrr.org. After signing in, select the Scheduled Tasks tab, then select the class/teacher.

 FLKRS Demographics must be completed before the ECHOS.

 FLKRS Demographics has two sections that must be recorded for EVERY student. One section is the “Potentially Limiting Physical Conditions” and the other is the “Participation” section.

 ELL students should be tested with the FAIR, but marked as ELL in the Participation section so that the FAIR data is not used to calculate a readiness rate.

 Retained students should be tested with FAIR also, but marked as “Retained” in the Participation section. The ECHOS should not be recorded for retained students.

 Adobe Air is an alternative to the EST because a teacher can work off-line. Network connections must be unplugged/turned off for the Adobe Air to work. It will not work if the computer is connected to the internet or receiving a wireless signal.

 Manual data entry is also an option if testing is not completed due to technical problems with the FAIR applications.

 The following recommendations are from the helpdesk:

I have been suggesting to KG-2nd grade teachers to write down their student's scores by hand as they go, task by task, to ensure that the correct scores are at least manually recorded so you do not have to retest the student if you receive an error message. The teacher can then just go in to the PMRN and manually enter in these scores through the Data Entry Page.

It does appear at this time that the scores are not being saved, however, as long as your teachers clicked the "Save Task Data" button on the K-2 EST for each task they completed, the score for that task has been saved in the PMRN. When you Sign In to the K-2 EST/AIR Assessment tomorrow, the student should be able to start at the task they left off on. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Additionally, you can also have your Users download the K-2 AIR version of the EST so that they can assess their students in "offline" mode. They do not need an active internet connection to run the K-2 AIR on their computers. Please follow and/or forward the directions below in order to download the K-2 AIR onto their computers: https://k2.pmrn.fcrr.org/

- Click on the link above to access the K-2 EST - Sign In to the K-2 EST with your User Name and Password - Click on the "Download" button at the bottom of the page - Click on the "Install Now" button at the top of the page - Install the K-2 AIR onto your computer

Note: You might need your Computer technician to install the K-2 AIR on your computer if you need special administrative rights to install a program onto your computer.

Once your Users have downloaded the K-2 AIR, they can click on the icon that is now on their desktop to access the K-2 AIR Assessment. They can then follow the directions below to make sure they are using the K-2 AIR correctly:

1) Sign In to the K-2 AIR using your User Name and Password.

You need an active internet connection to first load the rosters from the PMRN to the AIR. The "Status" at the bottom right-hand corner of the K-2 AIR will say "Status: Online" at this point.

NOTE: The "Loading Data, Please Wait" screen may take anywhere from one minute to 5-7 minutes depending on the volume of testing going on throughout the state at that time and/or the size of the rosters you are uploading from the PMRN to the AIR. Please WAIT for this to go through before disconnecting from the internet.

2) Once the rosters have uploaded from the PMRN into the AIR and you are able to view your teacher/student list, UNPLUG from the internet. At this point, the "Status" at the bottom right-hand corner of the K-2 AIR will say "Status: Offline".

3) Test your students in "Offline" mode throughout the day. The student's scores will be saved in the AIR during this time. When you have completed testing for the day, Sign Out of the K-2 AIR Assessment.

4) At the end of the day, you will need to plug back IN to the internet in order to transfer the recently achieved scores back into the PMRN.

Sign back In to the K-2 AIR with your User Name and Password. Once you have plugged back into the inter and Signed back In to the K-2 AIR, the "Status" at the bottom right-hand corner of the K-2 AIR will say "Status: Online" again.

NOTE: At this point, you will see the message that says "Transferring Data, Please Wait". Please WAIT until you see your class rosters once again to Sign back Out of the K-2 AIR.

All of these steps must be completed correctly in order to utilize the K-2 AIR successfully. Otherwise, if you do not unplug from the internet, you are still technically using the K-2 EST version of the K-2 Assessment.
