ROUND THE HOWGILLS . Went well, enjoyed by all, teams were well balanced so there was a good element of fun competition.

FRA 2014; Area around Warcop explored at last meeting, positive feedback from this, it seems to be an area which might lend itself quite well. Other options are still being considered: Cautley, Nateby,Weasdale are still possibilities. The race date has been set for Sunday the 19th October. Coops is planning to contact the Range/MOD regarding parking and possible routes. A fee of £2.00 per person for use of the range has been quoted and will need to be checked.

Next meeting is from the Cross Keys at 6.30pm.a final decision will be made by the end of May regarding a venue.

Angela agreed to help Jeanette Cooper with the job of Treasurer for the FRA committee.

KIRKBY STEPHEN 10km road race sun 19th May.Flyers are being distributed, no entries to date. The race license is being processed, Fraser will act as sweep and carry a defib with him. Race numbers will need medical information on the reverseThe school coffee bar area has been booked and Phil will contac the school re their level of commitment. The Scouts are set to help and volunteers will be needed for marshalling etc. There was some discussion re prizes aand whether to continue using vouchers

MONDAY KIRKBY TRAINING NIGHT RUNS From the 22nd April a rota of different start venues will be in place (Orton, Pendragon, Cautley, Crosby, Borrowdale, Murton, Brough, Weasdale , Ravenstonedale, Sunbiggin, are all suggestions) Meet times will be 6.45pm an details will be on the website. JUNIORS Sessions are still running at Kirkby Grammar school on Monday evenings. Though well attended now, this has been a big commitment for Phil; there were suggestions as to how this might be improved including relaunching under a new name ‘speed work’ and encouraging senior club members to attend in a similar way to the sessions at Sedbergh. The possibility of merging with the circuit sessions was also discussed.

Sedbergh training sessions will start next Thursday 18th April.

JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS. Suitable races have been put forward, we are waiting for Steve crook to organise a table on the website.

HOWLERS; Attempts are to be made to make these more ‘sociable’ with an option for organising fewer outings but with with a flavour or more of an ‘occasion’.
