Volunteer Fundraising Administrative Assistant
Volunteers provide essential support to The Lake District Calvert Trust
Overview of the role
Reporting to the Business Manager (Fundraising), the administrative assistant will support a range of administrative tasks to support the smooth running of the Fundraising Department. The administrative assistant will contribute directly to maintaining a high standard of work and ensuring that the fundraising targets for the Lake District Calvert Trust are achieved.
The Administrative Assistant will:
Handle incoming calls from funders, donors and supporters, providing prompt polite responses and forwarding messages to the relevant staff member
Perform general clerical duties including photocopying, mailing and filing
Provide supporters with information or packs that they request
Update eTapestry the cloud based Fundraising system and help to keep records up to date and accurate
Assist with volunteer co-ordination when required for talks and external events
Support the department in getting up to date information to donors and supporters including updating notice boards and mail outs
Update Facebook and twitter as required
Support with gathering data for funding bids and other campaigns
Create and modify documents using Microsoft Office
Schedule meetings
Undertake any other activities in keeping with the work of the charity Ideally we would like the following Experience, Skills and Knowledge:
An understanding and passion for the work of the Lake District Calvert Trust and an insight how charities operate
Previous experience in an office based role
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office particularly Excel, Word and Outlook
Experience of using social media
A team player but able to work on your own initiative
An understanding of data protection and confidentiality
Excellent organisational, written and verbal skills
Good interpersonal skills
Reliability
A willingness to learn new skills and try new activities
Hours, Location and Details:
We require support for two days per week 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday (possibly from 2 separate volunteers), although there can be some flexibility. The role will not generally require evening or weekend working however you may occasionally be asked to support at fundraising events. This would be optional.
The role will be based at the Lake District Calvert Trust, Little Crosthwaite, Keswick. This is a fully accessible site.
You will be required to provide references and undergo a DBS check. Continuation in the role will be subject to a 3 month trial period.

This is a voluntary unpaid position however we will reimburse your travel and subsistence expenses as agreed with the Business Manager (Fundraising)
