GC Base Stone: class IV base stone with low expansion and high precision Amazingly simple and stable: new artificial stone with two viscosities! Liquid or thixotropic? Both consistencies have their particular advantages – und they are now combined in the newly developed GC Base Stone from GC EUROPE. It is the first class IV artificial stone in the world that can be used in two different viscosities for an extremely wide range of indications – but its physical properties always remain consistent. For instance, tension-free bases but also accurate antagonist models or anatomic casts can now be produced with a single material.
The new GC Base Stone from the Dental Care Company is one of the latest generation of (type IV) artificial stones: it combines excellent physical properties, which far exceed DIN requirements, with optimal processing characteristics. An added bonus for the dental technician is the possibility of liquid as well as thixotropic use of the powder – without any effects on linear expansion or compressive strength.
High stability – even under extreme stresses In both cases this versatile material has an equally low setting expansion of 0.08 per cent as well as superb edge hardness and high wear resistance and pressure stability. Owing to good tensile and flexural strength, fracture points are safely avoided during processing – not only when removing the cast from the mould but also during a wide variety of articulator movements. Another benefit in daily laboratory work is that short processing times make it far easier and more convenient to form model bases. After only 60 seconds’ mixing (15 seconds manually and 45 by machine under vacuum), GC Base Stone has excellent flow properties for homogeneous, bubble-free model bases (even without a vibration process!) or optimal thixotropic properties for dimensionally accurate working stone models. Even the smallest details can reliably be reproduced with the new stone.
Processing times? Short and sweet! After mixing, the technician has up to five minutes in which to work the material. The subsequent setting time of seven-and-a-half minutes for thixotropic use or nine minutes for liquid use also saves him long waiting times. After only 30 or 40 minutes, the plaster model can be safely removed. All in all, an immense time-saving but with the utmost precision! Without doubt GC Base Stone is the product of choice when accuracy of reproduction and high mechanical stress resistance are demanded of a model. Its versatility and quick, uncomplicated handling also make it a multi-indication standard plaster of the highest quality. Another plus point: the three colours available – Terracotta Red, Peach Yellow and Royal Blue – harmonise perfectly with the six shades of the internationally renowned first-class artificial stone GC Fujirock EP – for individual and aesthetically demanding master casts. Even the packaging is impressive: to protect against moisture, the extra-hard GC Base Stone is now available in a hermetically sealed premium container with 15 kilogram capacity. 3.294 Zeichen
