Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, NY. 2008 – 2015 Technical Writer  Grant Proposals and Faculty Publications: Researched, originated content, and edited proposals and federal and state grants; edited faculty research reports and academic papers.  Software Documentation: Originated, edited and finalized content for Software User Manual and Firmware User Manual in MS Word for distribution with the Embedded Platform Logistics System (EPLS) hardware/software upgrade to Marine Corps LAV, AAV, and MTVR combat vehicle platforms. Adhered to DOD standards for documentation development.  Software Version Documentation: Originated, edited and finalized version reports to document changes in successive versions of EPLS software.  Research Reports: Originated and edited detailed reports on current state of Sustainable Development and Sustainable Manufacturing. Xerox Corporation (consultant to), Rochester, NY. 2007 – 2008 Technical Writer  Online Help System: Produced extensive help system documentation in XML for release of Xerox Production Imaging Manager (XPIM) application suite, Version 2.0. Worked closely with Xerox software developers to research, write, verify, edit and finalize more than 750 separate help topic files (85,000+ words). Tracked changes through more than 30 successive development builds and updated help file content accordingly to ensure accuracy.  Software Documentation: Verified, edited and finalized content for 11 separate volumes of supporting documentation in MS Word for distribution with the XPIM 2.0 final release.  Software Documentation: Worked closely with developers to generate documentation JAMES E. EDS, Inc. (contractor for), Rochester, NY. 2006 – 2007 Technical Writer Software Documentation: In a team environment, produced end-user, help-desk service operator, application administration and software installation manuals for latest release 6.1 of EDS Digital Workflow asset/service management package. Prepared original document text and graphics; updated and edited all preexisting materials to conform to release 6.1 and new corporate publication standards. Worked closely with EDS software developers, engineers, customer development specialists and trainers to generate intermediate revision and final manual drafts. Published comprehensive final document set (35+ volumes; each 80 to 250+ pages) in Adobe PDF format for intranet access by users worldwide.
