A bit of a background to Interact Worldwide

What is Interact Worldwide?

Interact is a technical development agency working on sexual and reproductive health rights. Interact Worldwide’s Vision is a world where all people are equally able to enjoy sexual and reproductive health and well-being, exercise their sexual and reproductive rights, and minimise their vulnerability to HIV/AIDS.

Our Mission is strengthened and comprehensive sexual and reproductive health and rights and HIV/AIDS policies and services which empower poor, vulnerable, and marginalised people and lead to positive sustainable changes in their quality of life.

In October 2009 IWW became part of the Plan family of worldwide charities. It retains its own Board, vision, mission and strategy. We are now developing a new business plan increasing our focus on adolescent SRH and increasing our collaboration with Plan UK further. In 2011 IW managed 15 projects in 6 countries through 26 local partners.

Advocacy, on a national and international scale, has always been central to Interact’s mission. In order to secure health services for the millions worldwide who are deprived of their right to sexual health, we link with other organisations in the Action for Global Health network. Interact has continued to urge European governments to honour the promise they made at the millennium of ensuring universal access to reproductive health supplies. Collectively with 14 organisations, we are part of Countdown 2015 Europe, another strong body seeking real action for the 137 million women worldwide who cannot obtain and use the contraception they want.
