Howdy fellow Catalina 30 sailors! Jump on the stagecoach now and plan on ride’n into Houston this coming May 19-21, 2006 and make history. That’s right, the Catalina 30 National Championship Regatta is headed to a new frontier – the Lone Star state! Hosted at the historic and beautiful Houston Yacht Club by Fleet 10 – Gulf Coast, a plethora of activities are in the works. Yep, five action-packed races will challenge you all from Santa Cruz to regain what Seattle snook away this year and San Francisco and Detroit did the previous two years. Add your name on the C30 National Trophy Board! Of course, there’ll be plenty of us locals do’in our darndest to wrangle those prizes, too! A corral-full of pure-breed Catalina 30’s has been rounded up, all anxious to put you in the saddle or ride shotgun.

Get here early! We are arranging for some very interesting seminars. We have invited Don Guillette and hopefully he can offer his ever-popular sail trim workshop on Friday – just what you’ll need to tame our May winds!

More action includes a progressive boat social of cool beverages, armadillo eggs, yep, and the like down at the stables, ahem, docks, on Friday evening. There’ll be lots of exciting door prizes given away on Saturday and Sunday. Certainly, you don’t want to miss our tantalizing real Texas-style smoked BBQ and southwestern-inspired Tex-Mex fajita dinners and awards ceremony either!

Not hanker’in to race? Mighty fine! Plenty of easy sail’n C30’s are also lassoed-up for a friendly rendezvous and stroll around “Rancho Galveston Bay”. How about your fine pardner? All of Houston to Galveston, maybe even the Governor, has put out their best welcome mats to show your special mate our wonderful southern hospitality. That’s right, bring your comfortable walk-in “boots”, cameras, and casual duds and hitch-up with the tour team. You’ll have a grand fun-filled time and make lots of new friends.
