Directions for Accessing Database

Your Mission Laptop Day 1: Make sure you have found at least one Database Source (fill out Debate Cornell Notes Database Form which you can find on my website). Print it out and turn it in. If you can’t print it, save it into your H drive, and we will print it later.

Directions for accessing Database:

1. Open Internet Explorer

2. Go to Denton ISD home page: dentonisd.org

3. Select Ryan High School from the drop down Select a School Menu

4. Click Library

5. Click Online Databases School Access

6. Click on EBSCO or Thompson-Gale

a. If EBSCO, click on EBSCO, then click on EBSCOhostWeb

b. Check the Select Box at the top and then click Continue

c. Type in your search and get started looking for Articles

d. Click on PDF Full Text to open the complete Article

e. Take notes from the article and copy and paste the Citation information onto your Debate Cornell Notes Database Form

e.i. To access the Citation Information, click on the paper Icon under the Tools Menu on the right side of the page.

e.ii. Scroll down until you find MLA. Copy the entire thing and paste it at the top of your Form.

f. If Thompson-Gale, Click on the Thompson Gale Icon

g. Check the Select All Box at the top, type in your search and click Search

h. Click on the article title, and it should give you the Full Text i. Take notes from the article and copy and paste the Citation information onto your Debate Cornell Notes Database Form

i.i. To access the Citation Information, scroll down to the bottom of the article.

i.ii. Copy everything below Source Citation (include the URL address)
