Limerick city, Ireland’s oldest chartered city dating from the 12th century, has a long and very fine tradition of choral, opera and musical theatre. Limerick Sings festival weekend offers choirs the opportunity to sing their own repertoire in some of Ireland’s finest music venues and to join in performance with choristers from other countries and different traditions of singing. It also offers a great social programme to entertain you, see the city and surrounding region and meet with local Irish host choirs from Limerick. Project

Field(s) Choral Limerick Sings would like to connect with Choral groups in Europe to invite them to the Limerick Sings International Choral Festival in 2017. We would be very interested in developing partners in Europe to grow the festival and to create awareness within Choral Associations.

We would like to create a network, build on partnerships and grow our database of contacts in Europe. We are researching innovative ideas to create a new element to the Choral festival reaching new and wider audiences.

We hope to encourage professional development for choral singer’s Description careers. This year we have introduced a Come Sing Choral Workshop with Anuna’s Education Programme. For the 2017 Festival we will be using Digital Technology to video record and use drone recording of the Big Sing on the Cliffs of Moher. We would like to foster and exchange skills amongst partners e.g. training of other partner countries to invite choral groups to the Limerick Sings Choral Festival. Limerick Sings are actively sourcing Choral groups to introduce a new style of Choral Singing.
