50. Jared wants to save $200 to buy a baseball bat. He saves 9 dollars each week, and his mother gives him an extra $0.25 for each dollar he saves.

Determine the number of weeks it will take Jared to save $200. Show your work or explain how you found the number of weeks.

It will take Jared 18 weeks to save $200. Jared will save $9 a week and his mother will give him an additional $2.25 ( 9 x $0.25 = $2.25). This will make a total saving of $11.25 for Jared per week. If you divide the $200 bat by $11.25 (200/11.25=17.8) you will get 17.8 weeks. Therefore Jared will need to save for 18 weeks to accumulate $200.
