Championship Playoff – 4:00 p.m. Cocktails and Presentation of Awards - 6:30 p.m. on the Patio

Dinner – 7:30 p.m. Complimentary dinner for contestants and wives

Sunday, June 26th – Rain Date Tournament Information

Format: The format shall be match play best ball of partners. The field will be divided into eight flights of six teams. Each team will play every other team in their flight one nine hole match. Each team will play three matches on Friday and two matches on Saturday. The team earning the most points is the flight winner and qualifies to compete in a 4 – Hole alternate shot Championship Playoff with the other flight winners.

Handicaps: All contestants must have a certified USGA handicap index. The Pipe Major Committee reserves the right to adjust any player’s handicap. All combined handicaps will be based on the Oak Park Country Club course slope rating. Contestants will use handicaps as of June 1, 2011.

Flight Arrangements: All of the flight seedings will be based on combined handicap total of partners as they occur from the first to tenth flight. The tie breaker in flight arrangements will be determined by: (1) Lower total of the handicap indexes of the team. (2) Low handicap index among players.

Rules of Play: USGA Rules of Golf will govern the tournament. Local rules, if any, will be announced by Oak Park C.C. Head Professional, Frank Bruno, before each round. Soft Spikes are REQUIRED! Cell phones are PROHIBITED on the golf course.

Scoring: Play will be off the low handicap player of the foursome with other players receiving the full difference of the strokes as they fall on the card. This includes half shots. Ten points will be awarded for each nine – hole match as follows: 1 Point for each hole won: ½ Point for each hole halved. 1 Point for winning the match: ½ Point for match halved. All matches are to consist of playing all nine holes. Points earned for a no-show by your opponents are six and one-half (6 ½). Most points scored in EACH flight will win that flight, and qualifies for the Championship Playoff. Most points scored in ANY flight represents the overall pari-mutuel winner.

Championship Playoff: All flight winners will compete in a 4-hole alternate shot elimination format to determine the overall champions. Full tournament handicaps will apply and each team will be given a handicap for each of the 4 holes.

Pari-Mutuel Wagering: Win – Place – Show based on highest total of points accumulated by ANY Team in ANY flight from the entire field. All bets are across the board: minimum bet of $2 across the board or total of $6. There will be separate pari-mutuel betting on the Championship Playoff.

Players Pool: Payout: 1st Place – 60%, 2nd Place – 40% in each flight. Included in entry fee: $100 per player.

The Par 3 Shootout Event: Included in entry fee: $25 per player. Payout: 1st Place – 50%, 2nd Place – 30%, 3rd Place – 20%

Cancellation Policy: The Oak Park Country Club Pipe Major Cancellation policy will be in effect as of June 4, 2010. The cancellation policy means forfeiture of your entry fee unless the Golf Committee can substitute your entry by June 4, 2011.

Note: All teams MUST be composed of regular men member/guest combination. Social pending and social members will be considered guests for this event. Father/Son teams will be considered member/guest teams. Son must be 21 years old. If the field is not complete by June 4, 2011 the Committee will accept member/member teams.
