PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Upper Nyack Elementary School, Upper Nyack, NY Sept 2015 – Present Elementary school in the Nyack public school district, teaching grades kindergarten to fifth. Teaching Assistant ● Coordinate and monitor everyday attendance during classroom lectures and various lunch room periods. ● Assist students with problems that may arise in the math and ELA subjects for both third and fourth grade. ● Responsible for taking six students into a graded reading group where we read and answer reading comprehension questions. ● Grade all homework and tests for third and fourth grade students in spelling, math, english, and social studies. ● Acted as a one on one with an autistic student, as well taught one on one with certain students needing help with ESL comprehension. ● Created an afterschool program within “ASAP” where students were taught a new skill, and had to demonstrate each skill in a fun game-like setting such as football. ● Volunteered with a math tutoring session every morning before school called “Fast Math”, as well as volunteered to monitor students on numerous class trips and in school assemblies. ● Organize parent/teacher conference dates and times. ● Sort and organize students “mail” for them to send home to their parents, and responsible for collecting it upon returning to school the next morning. ● Act as a head lunch and recess monitor for second and fifth grade students. I manage students through the lunch lines, make sure they took the correct lunches, and organize games for indoor and outdoor recess.
