WINTER PARK, COLO., March 14, 2007 – Celebrate warmer days with Winter Park Resort’s Spring Blast, a three weekend, end-of-season bash with fun, sun and great events. Starting March 31, we kick it off with a huge Party at the Park. April 7 we host Family Weekend, and April 14 come for a Throwback to the 80’s. Finally, we send the season out in style with the 39th annual Coca-Cola Spring Splash!

Spring Blast Events March 31-April 1: Spring Blast-Party at the Park Join the party for our final Wahoo’s Amateur Freeride Series as it concludes with the Oakley Showcase Showdown in the Rail Yard and on Lower Parkway. The Dummy Downhill Race livens things up Sunday at the base of Winter Park and all weekend long enjoy drink specials and live music by local band One Time Experience (Saturday) and Hunker Down (Sunday). Weekend guests may register to win two roundtrip tickets from Frontier Airlines.

April 1: Dummy Downhill Race The only competition of its kind in the state, this totally hilarious event features “dummies” of every shape and size careening down lower Parkway before launching themselves off of a huge jump and come to a crashing stop. Teams compete to capture top prizes in a number of categories including best crash, longest distance and best dummy.

April 7-8: Spring Blast Family Weekend Family weekend is sure to delight children of all ages. On Saturday, join us for a free fun day of face painting, stilt walkers, jugglers, and caricature artists complete with great drink specials at the Derailer Bar featuring live music by Halden Wofford and the Hi Beams and special guest Marty Jones. Easter Sunday kids are invited to the annual Wells Fargo Golden Bunny Easter Egg Hunt. Adults can join in the fun with the first ever Easter Poker Run, where the best hand wins a free pitcher of Coors and choice of appetizer from the Derailer Bar.

April 8: Wells Fargo Golden Bunny Easter Egg Hunt Winter Park Willie and the Easter Bunny deliver holiday fun with a huge on- mountain candy hunt in Discovery Park with more than 6,000 candy and toy- filled eggs. Tiny tots and non-skiing children can join in the fun with a base area egg hunt and coloring contest. The Bunny Race has been an Easter tradition for more than 30 years for children ages 10 and under. Children race for free in the Easter Dual Slalom race held on the Parkway trail and can race the course all day with registration and a lift ticket.

April 14-15: Spring Blast Throw Back to the 80’s Slide back to the 80’s with a retro ski party meant to break all the fashion rules. Dust off your finest day-glow apparel, straight skinny skis and old school one- pieces. Valuable prizes are up for grabs on Saturday in the first annual hot dog eating contest, “Dress Your Dog Hot” contest for pet dogs, and old school costume contest. Soak up the sun with an afternoon drink on the deck of Derailer Bar featuring specials and live music by Wayward Son (Saturday) and Great American Taxi (Sunday). Weekend guests may register to win two roundtrip tickets courtesy of Frontier Airlines, winners will be announced Sunday afternoon.

April 15: Coca-Cola 39 th Annual Cola Spring Splash Born at Winter Park Resort, this classic spring tradition is the oldest of its kind and celebrates its 39th year. New this year is the old school ski and snowboard category, so break out those 210’s! Competition begins at noon with skiers and riders struggling through obstacles on the Larry Sale race course in an attempt to skim across an icy pond to reach the finish line and post a time. Four thousand dollars worth of cash prizes and season passes are up for grabs, so register now for your Spring Splash slot at www.winterparkresort.com. Catch the fun in the sun all day long on the West Portal decks with live music by Great American Taxi.
