Effective June 1, 2010, a foreign national’s updated ARS-230 must be received by ARS Homeland Security no later than two (2) full business days after their arrival. Additionally, legible copies of any document listed by a foreign national on their ARS-230 (with the exception of Social Security cards) will be made and submitted to Homeland Security at the same time as the updated form.

Finally, a reminder about changes of domestic addresses after arrival … All foreign nationals including Lawful Permanent Residents will be required to submit an AR-11 (Alien Change of Address Card) or confirm that they have submitted an electronic change of address https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=coa at the same time as they update their ARS-230. The form will be completed by the foreign national and provided to their host who will then forward a copy to their Area Office within 48 hours. As a courtesy to the foreign national, hosts will mail originals forms to the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Bureau of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services’ (USCIS) London, Kentucky Office as listed in the form’s instructions. Failure to provide USCIS with a change of address notice is a violation of Section 265 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. § 1305).
