Dear Bioblitz Co-Ordinator

The Museum of Zoology and CCF’s Women in Conservation Leadership Network are putting together an event for International Women’s Day on March 8th 2018, from 4pm - 7.30pm in the Whale Hall. This event is to be a celebration of the contributions made by women to science, and will be marketed to local secondary schools and sixth form colleges as well as to students and the general public.

We would like to invite you to contribute to the evening. We are looking for researchers and conservation practitioners (particularly women) who would be happy to chat to the public about their work and careers at pop-up ‘Meet the Scientists’ stalls. Having some images, a poster or objects help as conversation points. Do let us know if there is support you need with this (for example, the Museum has a handling collection that may contain objects relevant to your work).

We are also looking for posters designed for a non-specialist audience highlighting the work of women in science, projects about gender and conservation, and profiles of women in conservation and zoology and what they do. We hope for posters to remain in the Whale Hall on the Friday and Saturday, when we are open to the public, as well.

If you would like to get involved, it would be great if you could provide an outline of your contribution in the form below and send it to Roz Wade, Learning Officer at the Museum of Zoology ([email protected]) by Wednesday 31 January 2018.
