COURSE NAME : INTERNATIONAL FINANCE COURSE NO : İŞLE 414 41 INSTRUCTOR : Dr.Güray Küçükkocaoğlu REQUIRED TEXT : INTERNATIONAL FINANCE, 2ND Edition, Muhsin Mengütürk MULTINATIONAL FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT, Int. edition, Alan C. Shapiro OPTIONAL : Finansal Forum, Dünya, The Wall Street Journal. These publications are a good way to begin a lifelong pattern of professional reading. We will be discussing significant financial events as they occur. COURSE DESCRIPTION : An intensified study of international banking and finance as it relates to international trade and the multinational corporation, and the financing of imports and exports. COURSE OBJECTIVES : To acquaint the student with the current exchange rate system and factors with affect exchange rates. To introduce the student to alternative international speculation strategies and arbitrage potentials. To develop the student's understanding of the unique risks involved in multinational operations and the appropriate hedging techniques for those risks. To provide an overview of international trade. To detail the process of corporate foreign investment, including investment strategies and capital procurement.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS : 1. Students are responsible for reading each chapter and preparing assignements from the text. 2. Students are expected to attend class on a regular basis and participate in class discussion. All exams must be taken at the designated time. No make-up exams will be given for any reason. 3. Plagiarism and cheating are violations of the academic honesty. Such occurences may result in an F grade being given for the course. GRADING POLICY : Exam I - 40% Final - 40% Term Project - 20%
