BASIC IT REQUIREMENTS FOR SIMULCAST VIEWING

Essential:

1. Minimum Internet Speed requirements: 512k or Higher

2. A dedicated hard line connection

PLEASE NOTE:

For successful Simulcast viewing a participant’s internet speed must be 512kb/s or higher. Any slower may result in consistent interruptions and/or frozen video (instructions on how to check internet speed is provided below).

It is also important that the internet is a dedicated hard line connection. Wireless internet can be spotty sometimes and can also result in interruptions in the stream.

Checking Your Internet Speed:

It is helpful to check the speed of your connection before the webcast is to begin. We recommend going online to www.speakeasy.net

Once you are on the site, click on the link that says “Speed Test”. The link will open a list of server locations. Click on the one that is closest to you. This will tell you if your internet speed is 512k or higher. If it indicates that you have a connection slower than 512k, there is a possibility of interruptions occurring in the stream.
