B a l l e t K - 2 n d g r a d e , D a n c e S t u d i o 3 : 0 0 – 4 : 0 0 Elena Ullman teaches beginner Ballet to little ones who become flowers, bees, animals and other elements from nature through dance… please provide healthy snack and dance attire.

MOVING IN TO DANCE: Dance Technique & Improvisation 5 t h – 8 t h g r a d e , P A C 3 : 0 0 – 4 : 3 0 The Dance Monks come to Ulster County and to High Meadow School in particular and offer a beginner/intermediate class on Dance improvisation. A place for developing skills in improvisation, organic acrobatics, technique, body awareness and choreography. The class is focused on the creation of whole-hearted creative expression through movement. These classes are taught by the internationally traveled DANCE MONKS, Rodrigo Esteva and Mirah Moriarty. What a great way to get some winter exercise indoors! Beginner skills are always taught. Please bring sneakers.

F a s h i o n & F a b r i c D e s i g n 5 t h g r a d e & u p AnnMarie’s Room, Upper School 3:00 – 4:00 Textile and clothing designer, Leslie Arouh, will explore the world of fashion and fabrics with students!! Beginning with fashion sketching, we will work with markers, watercolor, and pastel, and learn various techniques of applying dyes and pigment to fabric, and create wearable art! Leslie has worked in the apparel industry in NYC and created her own line of batik clothing in Bali, Indonesia.

C h e s s C l u b 3 r d g r a d e & u p Peter’s Room, Upper School 3:05 – 4:00 Peter Lavin, 7th/8th grade Math/Science teacher, will lead the chess club. For kids who love the game of chess, come and play with others who share this interest! Peter will work with chess club members on honing skills and strategy. If you have a chessboard, bring it – if not Peter will supply them…. Bring a healthy snack!

F e l t i n g K – 1st grade, Art Barn, 3:05 – 4:05 Visual Artist, Jennifer Boylan, will teach felting. Children create dolls, animals, tapestries and enjoy this gentle accessible art form… it’s all taking place in the Art Barn. Bring a healthy snack! 6- member maximum. $15 materials fee

D r a m a 3rd – 6th grade, PAC, 3:15 – 4:15 pm Veteran Acting Teacher and Director, Allyson Uzzle will lead this diverse group of young actors through a process of learning to act using improvisation theatre games and scripted scenes. Students will be immersed in their own artistic exploration as they learn about comedy, farce and contemporary drama from one our finest directors of young actors.

E x p l o r e r s C l u b K – 2nd grade, School Campus/Dance Studio 3:00 – 4:00 We will become adventurers as we journey into the woods and find what the autumn season has left for us to discover. These explorations may have us finding rotten logs where we can study mushrooms and other creepy crawlies. The colorful fall leaves will allow us to create some beautiful collages and art projects. We also just might build fairy houses before the winter! Bring a healthy snack…

(2nd - 4th graders) A place for children to fully express themselves through creativity in motion as well as learn specific organic skills in acrobatics and dance in a nurturing environment. S t o r y & D r a m a T i m e K-2nd graders, Carrie’s room 3:05 – 4:05 pm Join second grade teacher and literacy specialist Carrie in a delightful and relaxing weekly interaction with the wacky, wonderful, written word. Each session Carrie will lead the children in a discovery of a new story with a chance to act out the story at the end of each reading.
