TIMPERLEY & DISTRICT JUNIOR FOOTBALL LEAGUE

CUP COMPETITION RULES

1. The management of the League Cup Competitions shall be vested in the League Management Committee (LMC) of the Timperley & District Junior Football League, whose decisions shall be final and binding, subject to League Rule 16.

2. All Clubs must enter a Cup Competition or Competitions as determined by the LMC. The Competitions shall be as follows;

Under 12, Under 13 etc (League Cup) U9 / U10 & U11 Cup competition as defined by the League Management Council.

Development program Cup Competition: After all development games have finished all teams MUST publish their respective Cup squads

3. No player shall play in any Cup Competition for more than one team in the same season.

In all cup rounds (other than a Preliminary round, and a First round with a Division of Eight (8) teams or less). A player Must have played Three (3) games for his team to take part in the Match.

A qualifying game shall include any Authorised League or District FA or County FA Cup fixture that has been cancelled due to inclement weather, providing that a properly completed Match Card is received by the Divisional Secretary.

4. Teams will be drawn in pairs, and the first drawn shall be deemed the home team in rounds prior to the Final.

5. Extra time of (see Note) minutes each way will be played in all Cup ties. If the scores are still level after extra time the winner shall be determined by the taking of kicks from the penalty mark in accordance with the procedure adopted by The International Football Association Board.

6. Any team playing an ineligible player shall be struck out of the competition, the game awarded to their opponents, and may incur such other penalties as the LMC shall decide.

7. Any team refusing or failing to play the team against whom it has been drawn on the date assigned to it shall be adjudged to have lost the match, and may be found liable for such out of pocket expenses and liabilities as are incurred by their failure to play.

8. 16 (12 mini soccer) winners and runners – up awards will be presented to each of the Finalists, funds permitting.

10. Where not otherwise stated the rules of the League shall apply.

Note: In the event of a draw in a cup competition or important play off game then the game shall be decided with extra time of;

U9/U10 5 minutes each way U11/U12 7 minutes each way U13/U14 10 minutes each way U15 to U18 youth 15 minutes each way

In the event of teams drawing at the end of extra time the game shall be decided on penalties. Five (5) nominated players from each side, in the event of a draw after the 5 penalties have been taken then the remaining players from each team will take one until a winner is declared.

11. Deciding match(es) played under conditions determined by the League Management Committee - play off matches to determine championship/runners up or league cup matches. Head to head wins, or, most games won, or, aggregate scores – Play off matches.

12. In the event of the match being postponed (due to the weather, pitch conditions, or any other reason) on 2 consecutive occasions, then the tie will be switched on the 3rd occasion to be played at the away team pitch. Should that also be postponed then the tie will switch on the 4th occasion to the original home teams pitch. Subsequent postponements will switch on each occasion until the tie is played.
