MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE DEPARTMENTAL TENDER COMMITTEE HELD ON 18-04-2013 IN THE OFFICE OF THE GENERAL MANAGER(CW/E), K.P.T.

NAME OF WORK:- SUPPLY OF SWEET WATER TO KPT ESTABLISHMENT THROUGH BOWSERS FOR THE PERIOD FROM 01-07-2013 TO 30-06-2014

INTRODUCTION.

Shortage of water is being experienced for the last over two decades in the entire city including Port of Karachi. To meet a part of the short-fall, KPT has been arranging fresh drinking water through private bowsers by inviting tenders through PPRA / KPT Website and press advertisement on yearly basis. The present demand is in the neighborhood of 300 bowsers per day. The contract for 2012-13 will expire on 30-6-2013, therefore, tenders for “Supply of sweet water to KPT through bowsers” from TPX, KW&SB Hydrants & Desalination Plant Manora were invited through PPRA / KPT Website and press for 2013-14 ( 01-07-2013 to30-06-2014) and received on 04-04-2013.

m) Past performance of the Tenderers Keeping in view the past performance recommended and how they and the documents provided in respect behaved in the past of their clients, water tankers & experience in supply of water, they are considered capable to carryout this work. Recommendation

1. The offers received have been considered by the DTC. The detail of the lowest offers are tabulated as under:- a) M/s. M. Sohail & Brothers have quoted the lowest rates for supply from KW&SB / TPX Hydrants to inside & outside Port area and from Desalination Plant Manora to inside & outside Port area and Manora. b) M/s. S. M. Irshad have quoted the lowest rates for supply of water to Manora / Sandspit from KW&SB Hydrants.

2. The committee therefore considered the lowest offers received from two firms for supply of water to various points and recommends to the Board for award of the work for supply of sweet water through bowsers for the period from 01-07-2013 to 30-06-2014 from KW&SB / TPX Hydrants & Desalination Plant Manora to the lowest bidders i.e. M/s. M. Sohail & Brothers & M/s. S.M. Irshad Water Tanker Suppliers at their following quoted rates with adjustment of fuel prices as on 04-04-2013, as per contract condition.
