SIRS Knowledge Source is a database portal that provides valuable information on social issues, economics, business, politics, global issues, scientific developments, health, history, government, culture, the arts and humanities. Resources are selected from reputable domestic and international publications and respected organizations. SKS is updated daily.
Go to the Oregon School District Start page at http://www.oregonsd.net. Click on Great Link System, then Research, and lastly, SIRS Knowledge Source. The log in is: WI0432. The password is: apple.
1. You need to review a topic from today’s news for your social studies class. Click the Database Features tab at the top of the page. Now click Today’s News. Find an article of interest to you and provide the information requested below. 2. You are having trouble in your algebra or geometry class and need to find a tutorial site. Click on the Database Features tab. Now click Curriculum Pathfinders. Click the Math tab (in yellow bar). Scroll to the bottom (use the far right scroll bar). In the left box, scroll to Tools, Math Homework Help. At the right you will see a yellow box with links to a summary. Click Summary. Copy and paste below the summary of one article (written after 2005) that would help in your research. 8.
