Dance Showcase Rehearsal Schedule

RISE DANCE CENTER PERFORMANCE CONCERT DRESS REHEARSAL SCHEDULE PRAIRIE CENTER FOR THE ARTS 201 SCHAUMBURG COURT SCHAUMBURG, IL JUNE 1, 2, 3, 4,

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION CAREFULLY. Dancers need only be present during their class rehearsal times and one finale practice. Check and see exactly what day and time your child’s dance class(es) will be rehearsing. After reading everything carefully, if you still have any questions, email [email protected]

Dress rehearsals are a necessary part of any performance. PLEASE BE ON TIME. We will not be able to wait for late arrivals and still stay on schedule. Be prepared to be there at least a few hours and possibly more than one day, depending on how many dances your child is in. Bring things to keep busy. It is a good time for your dancer to see some of the other dances in the show. Our recitals will be professionally recorded so videotaping during the Friday and Saturday performances will not be allowed. Since many parents videotape the dress rehearsal, we ask that everyone conduct themselves in a quiet and controlled manner in respect for the girls on stage. And please remember that for the safety of the dancers, flash photography will be prohibited. ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD OR DRINK WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE AUDITORIUM OR DRESSING ROOMS. THIS IS A PRAIRIE CENTER RULE AND WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED. You are welcome to eat in the lobby or gallery area. Dancers may not eat while wearing their costumes.

Please keep in mind all the hard work and training your child has gone through to prepare for this exciting and busy event. Being organized and knowing what the evening’s expectations will be, as well as having all costume items ready the night before, and labeled with your child’ name, will help alleviate stress. Since your child’s class will be identified by the dance titles, please learn the names of your child’s dances. Remember that dress rehearsals require exact hair and make-up. This is the time to have everything as it should be, so the day of the performance will bring no unanticipated surprises. It is a good idea to practice hair and make-up at home. If your dancer has any costume changes, a nude camisole leotard is required to be worn under all costumes. It allows the dancers to remain covered at all times during costume changes. We have a limited supply available for purchase at the studio ($15) as well as both pink and nude tights ($8).

For dress rehearsal (you are to park in the east parking lot)… Please arrive at the Prairie Center at least 15 minutes before your Stage Call time and locate your child’s dressing room so that you know where it is. This information is on the first page of this packet. If you are assigned to Meeting Rooms A or B, you may get ready in a washroom or in the auditorium since we do not have access to these rooms during our dress rehearsal week. We will begin calling dances to the stage from the auditorium promptly at 4:30.

For the performance… Dancers should arrive and report to their dressing rooms 30 minutes before the start of the show. Dancer’s names will be posted on dressing room doors. Dancers will not be allowed in the auditorium during the show and must remain in their dressing rooms. If your dancer would like to attend a show please make sure it is one that none of her dances are performing in.

PERFORMANCE VOLUNTEERS

Our dancers need to be supervised during the shows and we rely on moms for this important duty. If your dancer is in more than one show, please email ([email protected]) to let us know which show you would like to be assigned to as a volunteer. We will then contact you to let you know what your assignment will be.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! REMEMBER, THE DANCERS NEED YOU!!!!! DRESS REHEARSAL SCHEDULE
