Obituary Jerry Joe Bowers July 22 1941-October 3 2013

We knew him as Jerry Bowers son of Raymond and Ruby Bowers in Southern Colorado and New Mexico but he was born in Denver Colorado as Jerome Jake Pascal. He left this planet to pursue his fly fishing with Royal Coachmen and Grey Hackles somewhere on a stream or river in a much nicer place. A member of the Elks Club he enjoyed outdoor life and animals. He worked for Magma Copper Mines in San Manuel Arizona, As a Colorado State Highway Engineer, Was a surveyor and real estate salesman in Durango Colorado. Then along with his wife and sons owned and operated the Sunset Motel Clayton New Mexico and The Western Motel and Restaurant Deming New Mexico. Served as a member of the Tourist Development Committee. He played basketball and football at Bayfield High school and won trophies he also played the accordion on live radio in the 50’s. Hope he catches a trophy rainbow trout wherever his soul now resides.

He is survived by his wife of 50yrs Jo Ann Bowers and Son Dean Bowers of Cedar Hill New Mexico along with His Son Jim Bowers wife Gretchen Bowers and grand kids Christiana and Dorothy Bowers of Temple Texas grandson Bryan Reed of Cleveland Ohio. His Brother Mike Bowers of Cortez Colorado. Cousin Verdon Peters of St. Petersburg Florida. Other relatives Joe Bill McKee Redmond Washington, Irene Hampton Cortez Colorado, Zeda Johnson Fruita Colorado, Gary Stevens Alamosa Colorado and Numerous relatives in the Pascal and Stoll family. Linda and Rod Wenzel of Bonita Mesa New Mexico, Leah Carpenter Kish of Albuquerque NM, Barbara Thrall Allen and Julie Lay Thrall of Denver Colorado, And Heather &Rick Roscoe of Tuscon Arizona and his dog BART.

He didn’t want to leave but he would ask that instead of contributing to him or his family that you Make a donation to The American Lung Association or The St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital.
