CIA – User’s Guide

Claims Information Access (CIA) is an on-line claims information system for authorized producers and policyholders. It provides access to claims file activity, file notes, and claims financial information.

A User ID and password is required to use the system. If you do not have one, please complete the Privacy Agreement and On-Line Access forms and send them to: [email protected] CIA OVERVIEW

Basic Section:

 Search for a list of claims by Policy Number, Insured Name, or Claimant

 Search by Claim Number

 View a Claims Summary page

 View claims financial data, including loss reserves and payments

 View claim file notes and attachments

Advanced Section:

 Search for claims based on twenty pre-defined data elements and range categories

 View the search results which displays a list of claims based on your search parameters

 Ability to drill down from the search list to view individual claims information, including file notes and financials

 Create reports using the twenty defined data elements and export to Excel

Access: CIA can be accessed directly from our website. From the Claims Resources section of the CF Connect page, simply click on the corresponding link as shown below. CF Connect Page:

Upon launching CIA, the following sign-on page appears. Enter your user ID and password.

The CIA homepage defaults to the Basic section of the system. From this page you can search by claim number or search for a list of claims by using the policy number, Insured name or claimant’s name. BASIC SECTION

The image below reflects the results of a search made by a specific claim number.

When viewing a claim, click on the Financial Overview hyperlink to see the following:

To view payment history, click on the Payment tab To view reserve history, click on the Reserve tab

Click on the Claim File Notes hyperlink to view file notes. Attachments can also be viewed by clicking on the paper icon. To open a file note, click on the corresponding line item. Here is an example of a search by Insured Name.

Enter the first few letters of the policyholder’s name in the corresponding box, followed by an “=” sign, and press search. All claims matching the policyholder’s name will appear in a list similar to the one below. ADVANCED SECTION

Use this section to create claim reports or to customize your claims search criteria based on parameters you establish. Select the data elements you would like to display by checking the corresponding box. Also, enter the data queries you are interested in and press the Search button on the upper left side. See the example below. Here are the search results. You can drill down on each claim number to view claims information, including claim file notes, and claim financial information.

You can copy the report directly into Excel, or you can enter your e-mail address to receive a copy of the report.
