Walk through the "Fairy Chimneys" in Devrent Valley, the Pasabag (Monks') Valley, and practice the ancient technique of pottery production in Avanos. Visit Göreme, the open-air museum with its earliest churches and chapels carved in fairy chimneys presenting some of the finest examples of frescoes. Go to the Pigeon Valley and the petrified valley of Uchisar, the highest point in the region. Have dinner at the hotel where you will also spend the night.

Day 2 After breakfast go on a visit to the Hospital Monastery. Walk into the "wonderland" at Kizilcukur (Red Valley) and the village of Cavusin with its rock-cut dwellings. Take in the Underground City of Kaymakli, a rock-cut city up to 8-9 levels beneath the earth where early Christians used to hide from Roman and Byzantine persecution. Explore the rock formations in Çatalkaya. You'll get to have a fantastic overview of the fairy chimneys from Esentepe. Then take the evening flight from Kayseri or the night bus from Ürgüp to Istanbul.

Ephesus and Virgin Mary’s House Take an early morning flight to Izmir or a night bus to Kusadasi, the birthplace of Homer. You will then depart for the old Greco-Roman city of Ephesus, one of the twelve cities of the Ionian League during the classical Greek period. Ephesus was also one of the "Seven Churches of Anatolia (Asia)" cited in the Book of Revelation.

Visit Marble Street, Odeon, Bouleterion, the Temple of Hadrian and Serapis, Agora, the Library of Celsus, the Great Theatre, Double Church, Arcadian Way, Gate of Magnesia. Get to see the last abode of Virgin Mary at Mount Solmissos before having lunch at Selcuk.

After lunch, head on to Isabey Mosque, one of the oldest and most impressive works of architectural art remaining from the time of the Anatolian Beyliks. Visit Ephesus Archaeological Museum and the Temple of Artemis, one of the "Seven Wonders of the Ancient World."

Pergamum Go to Pergamon, an ancient Greek city and the capital of the Kingdom of Pergamum.

Visit Aesculapium, an ancient medical center built in the name of Aesculapis, the God of Medicine, where different healing methods like blood transfusion, meditation, therapy with music and the sound of water were first used.

After lunch, continue to Pergamum Acropolis where you'll see the Athena and Trojan Temples, the Temple of Zeus, the Temple of Dionysos, the Gymnasium of Youth, Odeon, Library, Agora, the Great Theatre and Roman Baths.

Pamukkale Drive to Pamukkale (Cotton Castle), a beautiful and spectacular natural site near Denizli, which is unique in the world. Thermal spring waters have carved the fantastic formation of stalactites here. Its thermal waters have been used since Roman times for their therapeutic powers. Situated on the plateau, you'll get a chance to see the thermal centers, thermal pools and ruins of the ancient city of Hierapolis. The ancient thermal baths have been restored and converted into an archaeological museum, which you will be visiting.

Day 1: Istanbul / Gallipoli Be humbled while exploring a region equated with one of the most significant military battles of our time. Embark on a guided tour through Anzac Cove to the battlefields of Nek and Lone Pine, and be amazed at how this now serene coastline once saw such brutal scenes of war. Hear stories of heroism and camaraderie that unfolded among the tragedies of what has become a defining moment in Australian, New Zealand and Turkish history and take the time to read moving inscriptions etched onto a sea of gravestones.

Day 2: Gallipoli / Istanbul The Gallipoli Peninsula was declared a national park in 1973 and is blessed with a dramatic coastline, verdant woodlands and stunning views to offset its tumultuous history. The wonderful city of Istanbul has an incredibly rich history, amazing array of architectural styles, a delectable cuisine, vibrant nightlife, fascinating culture and oodles of style.

On day two, perhaps take the opportunity to snorkel over a WWI shipwreck off the coast or venture further afield to historic Troy before returning to Istanbul. The journey provides a great opportunity to pay respect for those who lost their lives and to reflect on what they fought for.
