Student Contract

Supplies: These supplies are expected to be in class everyday  Three ring binder with loose-leaf paper and dividers (notes, HW, Lab)  Pens and pencils  Index cards

Classroom Procedure: students are expected to adhere to the following:  Arrive to class on time- be seated and ready to work at the bell. o Any student who arrives late must sign in. If you are late to class more than once, you will receive a phone call home.  Come to class prepared with the items listed above.  Raise your hand when you would like to ask a question or be part of a discussion.  Respect your fellow students and faculty. o No talking when someone else is talking. o Keep hands, feet, supplies, etc. to yourself.  The use of electronic devices such as (but not limited to) cell phones, ipads, and MP3 players are not permitted in class at any time. o If such a device is out during class, it will be confiscated. The first time it is confiscated, you will get it back at the end of the school day. If it is confiscated again, it will be sent down to an administrator.  All bookbags, pocketbooks, jackets, hats, etc…. are not permitted on the desk during class. All such items must be placed on the side of the room or under the desk.  The hall pass may not be used the first and last ten minutes of class.  Refer to the student agenda for the discipline policies of the school. These policies refer to the classroom as well. Evaluation: Grading will be based on the following:  Tests: ______% o Tests will be given approximately every two weeks.  Quizzes: ______% o Quizzes will be given frequently and may not always be announced.  Homework ______% o Homework will be given every night and frequently collected and graded. o Homework is due the day that it is due. No late assignments will be accepted.  Lab: ______%

Lab: The procedure is as follows:  All lab hours must be fulfilled. Students are required to have 1200 minutes of lab hours fulfilled in order to sit for the regent’s exam.  All reports must be completed. If a student misses a lab, they are required to make it up at the following lab make-up session. If it is not made up within one week, the student will not receive credit for that lab and a 0 will be averaged into their lab grade.  If a student does not complete the required number of lab hours, he/she will be barred from the regents.

It is the responsibility of the student to speak with the teacher regarding any missed work due to an absence from class. All missed work must be completed within a timely manner in order to obtain credit for it.

Any student who has 18 or more absences throughout the year may receive a no credit for the course. After 18 absences (excused or unexcused, students must speak with me to make up the missed hours.
