1736 WILL OF JOHN UGLOW

[transcribed by Charlou Dolan] FHL Film 90,190 item 3: Will Book 12, pages 121-122: In The Name of God Amen the twenty fifth day of August, one Thousand Seven Hundred and Thirty Six, I John uglow of the parish of Marham=church in the County of Cornewall Yeoman being weak of Body but of perfect memory and Remembrance praysed be Almighty God doe make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following, that is to Say, First I Bequeath my Soule into the hands of almighty God my maker hopiing that through the meritorious Death and passion of Jesus Christ my Savior to receive free pardon and forgiveness for all my Sins and as for my Body to be Buried in Christian Burial at the Discretion of my Executor Hereafter named. Item If margaret my wife be with Child at the time of my Decease, I Give and Bequeath unto the said Child what remains & all my Goods and chattles after my Executor hereafter named & Shall have paid all my Funeral Charges and Debts, But if my wife be not with Child at the time of my Decease or this said Child shall Happen to dye before it shall accomplish the age of one and Twenty Years that then I Give and Bequeath all the aforementioned Goods and Chattles in manner and form as is hereafter Expressed that is to say First I Give unto Margaret my wife one Guinea of Gold and all the pewter which hath been brought her by her own Relatives. Item If any of my Chattell Estate or Estates Shall remain after my Debts are all paid off I give unto my Brother Thomas in Trust to and for the use and Benefit of Each of my two Sisters Allice and Susanna and to Each of the two Sons of my Sister Jane an equal Share with my Brother Thomas of s'd yearly profits and Income that Shall arise out of the above mentioned Estate or Estates for and During the naturl Life of my said Brother Thomas if any Rights in the Said Estate or Estates shall so long Continue Item I Give unto my Sister Anne (if she happen to be a widdow) and my Sister Susanna free liberty to Live in the Dwelling House Belonging to Will's Tenement if they or Either of them will Dwell therein at any time During the Right I now have in the Said Premisses. Item all the rest of my Goods and Chatteles whatsoever I Give and Bequeath unto Thomas uglow my Brother whom I Doe hereby make and ordain to be my whole and Sole Executor of this my last will and Testament (revoking all former wills by me made) he Doing and performing my will as aforesaid and paying my funeral Charges, Debts, and Legacies.
