LOCKUP BY DIGILOCK LOCKER SPECIFICATION Section 10 51 00 - Applies to one wide, three tier (1W3T) LockUp Lockers with E Function Locks, patriot red colored polycarbonate doors, and a flat top roof.

PART 1 – GENERAL

1.1 SUMMARY Furnish and install LockUp steel lockers with installed electronic locks as shown or indicated on approved drawings.

1.2 SUBMITTALS Provide in accordance with submittal procedures: Lockers: Submit drawings showing locker types, sizes and quantities, including all necessary details relating to anchoring, trim installation and relationship to adjacent surfaces. Locks: Submit product data for locks including lock type, orientation, lock interface, quantities and all necessary details related to installation instructions. Lock Management: Indicate lock management by key and required number of keys to be delivered directly to owner’s representative.

PART 2 – PRODUCTS

2.1 MANUFACTURER: Security People Inc., 9 Willowbrook Court, Petaluma, CA 94954; 707-766-6000; www.digilock.com. Requests to use equivalent products of other manufacturers shall be submitted in accordance with Product Substitution Procedures and may be approved provided they meet the detailed written specifications below.

2.2 LOCKERS: The locker frame shall not be larger than 12”w x 12”d x 78”h. -OPTION 1: The locker shall be one wide, with six openings per tier (1W-6T). -OPTION 2: The locker shall be three wide, with three openings per tier (3W-3T). -OPTION 3: The locker shall be three wide, with six openings per tier (3W-6T).

2.2.1 Depth: Locker depth shall be 12”. -OPTION 1: Locker depth shall be 15”. -OPTION 2: Locker depth shall be 18”.

2.2.2 Materials: All major steel parts shall be made of milled cold rolled steel capable of taking a powder coat finish.

2.2.3 Finish: Surfaces of steel shall be cleaned and prepared for powder coat finish in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.

10 51 00- 1 2.2.4 Door Frames: Door frames shall be 16 gauge steel formed in 1” wide channel shapes with continuous vertical door strike. Double and triple tier locker cross frame members shall be 16 gauge channel shaped welded to vertical frame. Intermediate cross frame members are not required on six tier lockers.

2.2.6 Polycarbonate Doors: Doors shall be 4.77mm thickness polycarbonate formed with bevel front and right angle flanges on all sides for door stability. Ventilation shall be provided through door perimeter.

2.2.7 Hinges: Hinges shall be continuous, piano style hinges running the full length of the door, welded to frame and riveted to door.

2.2.8 Body: All locker body components shall be 24 gauge steel. Tops, bottoms and shelves are flanged on all four sides and riveted uprights, back and door frame assembly. Single tier and double tier lockers include two single prong hooks and one double prong hook. All hooks are steel formed with ball points riveted to locker body.

2.2.9 Number Plates: Number plates are riveted to doors in number series as provided by owner or owner’s representative.

2.2.10 Color: All locker components shall be finished in powder coat Patriot Red (01). OPTION 1: Specifier may specify Grey (02). OPTION 2: Specifier may specify White (03). OPTION 3: Specifier may specify Champagne (04). OPTION 4: Specifier may specify Beige (05). OPTION 5: Specifier may specify Black (06). OPTION 6: Specifier may specify Blue (07). OPTION 7: Specifier may specify Hunter Green (08). OPTION 8: Specifier may specify Bronze (09). OPTION 9: Specifier may specify Blue (10). OPTION 10: Specifier may specify Dark Grey (11). OPTION 11: Specifier may specify Summit Grey (12). OPTION 12: Specifier may specify special White (13). OPTION 13: Specifier may specify Navy Blue (14). OPTION 14: Specifier may specify Celare Dark Grey (16). OPTION 15: Specifier may specify Brown Texture (17). OPTION 16: Specifier may specify Black Texture (18).

2.2.11 Roof Type: The locker shall come with a flat top roof. -OPTION: Specifier may specify a slope top roof.

2.2.12 Assembly: Lockers shall be fully assembled prior to delivery using rivets for a strong mechanical connection.

2.3 LOCKS 2.3.1 Type: The lock shall be a Digilock LockUp E-Employee function, keypad operated electronic lock. -OPTION 1: Specifier may specify D function, keypad operated electronic lock. -OPTION 2: Specifier may specify Ex function, keypad operated electronic lock. -OPTION 3: Specifier may specify M function, shared use keypad operated electronic lock. -OPTION 4: Specifier may specify M function, assigned use keypad operated electronic lock. 10 51 00- 2 2.3.2 Materials: The lock’s front module containing the keypad shall not be larger than 2.17”(w) x 3.10” (h) with a receptacle for the manager flex key and shall carry a reflective metal finish. The lock shall contain an LED light for visual feedback and a device for audible feedback.

2.3.3 Mounting: The lock shall consist of two modules with the front module containing the keypad and the rear module containing the 3/8” dead bolt. The front and rear modules shall contain a built-in connector capable of mating when the modules are installed on the door. The front module shall be surface-mounted on the outside of the door. The rear module shall be mounted on the inside of the door placing the door in between the two modules. The two modules shall be connected to one another through an opening on the door with their built-in connector and secured to one another via two screw posts and two locking nuts.

2.3.4 Operation: The lock shall be operated by a user selected four-digit code, an electronic ADA compliant user key or an electronic manager flex key. Entry of a valid code or key shall operate the lock by throwing and retracting the bolt. The lock shall remain unlocked until another code/key is entered to lock. When locked, the LED shall emit a flashing red light to indicate use. The lock shall unlock automatically after 12 hours of continuous use. The lock shall emit audio feedback in the case of each keypad stroke, entry of valid/invalid code, low battery and binding.

The electronic manager flex key(s) shall be registered to the lock creating a unique lock/key system. The lock shall automatically lock-out for one minute after three consecutive entries of invalid operating codes. In case the user code is forgotten, entry of the electronic manager flex key shall unlock the lock.

2.3.5 Power Source: The lock shall be powered by batteries included with and housed in the rear module of the lock. The lock shall work stand-alone without wiring from another lock or central processor. The batteries shall last a minimum of 120,000 activations, or 3 years with 10 operations per day.

PART 3 – EXECUTION

3.1 DELIVERY AND INSTALLATION Deliver lockers in manufacturer’s original, labeled cartons. Lockers must be installed in accordance with manufacturer’s approved drawings and assembly instructions. Installation shall be level such that lock operates without binding.

3.2 PROGRAMMING Upon completion of installation, inspect locks for proper factory default operation. Transfer manager flex key(s) to owner.

3.3 QUALITY ASSURANCE Digilock reserves the right to modify the design and/or function of lock and change specifications to maintain compliance with corporate quality assurance policies.
