VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

JOB TITLE: Social Worker III – Adult Services

DEPARTMENT: Social Services SALARY: Based on experience CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATION: February 3rd, 2017

DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Provide Social Work services in Adult Services and Adult Protective Services program areas. Conducts complaint investigations on Adult Care Homes and is responsible for the recruitment, study and development of family care homes and group facilities, evaluation and periodic re-evaluation to determine if the home or facility meets the needs of the individuals it serves, and consultation and technical assistance to help family care homes and group facilities. Responsible for regular monitoring of Adult Care Homes. Performs assessment and investigations of adult protective services reports to determine the extent of neglect, abuse, and/or exploitation, if any, and mobilizes services on the adult’s behalf. Involved in any court action necessary to protect the adult involved. Performs other related duties as required.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS: Requires valid N.C. driver’s license, good driving record and transportation for use at work. Oral and written interviews will be conducted. College transcripts must accompany application in order for application to be considered complete.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: MSW from an accredited school of social work; or BSW from an accredited school of social work and completion of the Child Welfare Collaborative; or BSW from an accredited school of social work and one year directly related experience; Bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an accredited college or university and two years directly related experience; Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and three years directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Social Worker I and Social Worker II may be considered. Minimum Training and Experience: 4 year Human Services degree required.
