Post: Care Assistant Driver

PERSON SPECIFICATION POST: CARE ASSISTANT DRIVER Please ensure that you show how you meet the following requirements when completing your application form. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS METHOD OF ASSESSMENT SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS (if any) 1. Educated to GCSE/NVQ2 level or the equivalent work related experience in a care field App Form/Interview

2. Full UK driving licence with D1 classification. Interview

3. Successful driving assessment 2nd stage interview

4. Ability to meet insurance criteria in line with driving mini Interview buses.

5. Ability to demonstrate working within a team environment as App Form/Interview well as working on own initiative

6. Ability to demonstrate an awareness of the issues App Form/Interview facing older people and the ethos of AgeUK Leicester Shire & Rutland

7. Able to communicate with people at all levels, including App Form/Interview older people.

8. Ability to demonstrate an awareness of data protection App Form/Interview legislation and confidentiality in relation to staff and service users

9. Knowledge of safeguarding guidelines & Health & Safety in App Form/Interview relation to working practices

10. Ability to support people in the group with a range of social App Form/Interview activities.

11. Knowledge of working within a multi-cultural environment App Form/Interview and an ability to implement policy in relation to fellow workers and service users with regard to equality and diversity issues.

12. Experience of assisting people with personal care needs App Form/Interview whilst protecting privacy and dignity.

13. Ability to handle and bank money in line with Age UK policy App Form/Interview and to submit accurate and timely records.

14. Ability to assist clients to transfer between sitting/standing App Form/Interview within safe moving and handling guidelines.
