1 Minute Short Film

Learning Intention:-

• I can create in group, given ideas, a short film.

Success Criteria:-

• As a group we can choose an idea for a short film. • I am able to help develop a storyline and characters that match the idea that we have chosen. • I am able to help allocate roles to all team members. • I am able to help develop a script. • I can state some shots I would like to have in my film and explain why.

Activity

In your group decide on an idea for a short film, either come up with one yourself or choose one from below.

1. A bank robbery. A group of bank robbers and guards.

2. A news story. A news report about a serious incident.

3. A backwards world. A world where everything happens in reverse.

4. A Mockumentary. A film pretending to be a documentary, following an individual about.

5. Giant Monster movie. People living in terror of a giant monster.

6. Ghost movie. Someone running away from an unseen ghost.

7. Online shopping presenter. Salesperson/people trying to sell ridiculous items. 8. An advert. Something being advertised, could satire a current advert.

9. Music Video

Next come up with a short story/script for your movie, you must have this written down and it does not have to be line for line dialogue. You should not plan to make your movie any more than 1 minute long.

After you have done this allocate at least one role to everyone in your group and record what they are to do.

Group Member Responsibilities

Once you have done this think of some camera shots you really want to have in your movie and write them down.
