Join Buddhists from temples representing over 15 different countries as we celebrate the Birth, Enlightenment, and Mahaparinirvana of the Lord Buddha.
The 17th Annual International Vesak Day’s Activities Include:
Offerings and circumambulations, prayers and homages to the Lord Buddha, a Cultural Show featuring traditional song and dance, workshops, Dharma lectures and guided meditations given by Buddhist teachers from around the Washington, DC area.

No charge – donations gratefully accepted (See reverse for schedule and directions) Schedule 08:30am – 09:00am Circumambulation and seating 09:00am – 11.15am Group prayers and meditation 11:15am – 12:00pm Lunch 01:00pm – 03.30pm Dharma lectures, meditation instruction, and traditional song and dance 03.30pm – Closing Ceremony
Driving Directions. From I-495, take I-495 (The Capital Beltway) to exit 28 A (New Hampshire Ave—MD 650) towards White Oak. Continue north on New Hampshire Ave for approximately six miles. The Cambodian Temple is approximately a half a mile after crossing Randolph Rd, and is on the left side of the road.
By Metro. Take the Red Line to the Glenmont Metro Station. From the Glenmont Station, board either a Z 1 or a Z 4 bus. Travel by bus from Glenmont to Randolph Rd, disembark at the intersection of Randolph Rd and New Hampshire Ave. The Cambodian Temple is approximately half a mile up New Hampshire Ave (North). OR Take the Red Line to the Silver Spring Metro Station. From the Silver Spring Station, board either a Z 2 or a Z 3 bus. Travel by bus from Silver Spring to New Hampshire Ave, disembark after the bus crosses Randolph Rd. The Cambodian Temple is approximately half a mile up New Hampshire Ave (North).
