No Regrets Small Group Leader Resources
No Regrets Mid-Year Retreat
Goal: Provide a safe environment and sufficient time for men to be open and thorough … In discussing each other’s strengths and weaknesses. Strengthen personal relationships. Continue the process of gift identification to further define your personal mission. Share time in deep spiritual communion with the Lord.
Proposed Agenda (All times are flexible – whatever works for your group.)
5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Dinner – (Fish fry, pizza etc.) Reflection on No Regrets so far: What benefits have been derived from the experience so far? What importance do you place on being in a men’s small group for spiritual strengthening and accountability? How do you plan on staying connected with a group of Christian guys after No Regrets has ended?
7:15 P.M. - ? Discussion Opening group prayer – leaders lead a devotional. Each member shares his Personal Mission Statement, if he has one. Their personal strengths and weaknesses, i.e. what do you think you are good at? The group will help you to solidify your beliefs about your strengths and weaknesses. This will be a participative process. What gift(s) do you have that the Lord can use to have an exponential impact on His efforts? Again, the group will offer input and observations on what they see your gifts to be. Considering these observations, what ministry do you see yourself best serving in your church? Are you currently pursuing such an opportunity? If not, what do you plan on doing, and when? What’s the “thorn in your flesh”, i.e., what’s the greatest inhibitor to the fulfillment of God’s will in your life? Small group prayer – pray about our weaknesses, ask God to help us to be all that He wants us to be.
Optional: Plan to stay overnight or plan a Saturday activity such as canoeing, golf, baseball game, etc. Just have fun together.
