St Albans HSA Meeting Minutes 8th February 2017

1. Welcome Attendees – Katie Hyett, Jackie Symmonds, Vicky Macey, Jayne Benfield and Holly Macey

2. Apologies Samantha White, Emma Jewitt, Sarah Charlesworth and Wendy Parkinson

3. Matters Arising

I. Mr Livermore would like some money for kit bags, trophies, balls etc instead of the kit because he has been given kit money from someone else. Everyone agreed to give money once he has produced an invoice. ACTION 1 – JACKIE SYMMONDS

II. Still waiting for quotes to come back for the sound and lighting system.

III. It was agreed that a £100.00 budget is to be given to each class for equipment with the exception Year R. A letter is to be written to each class offering the money, but explaining that they must buy the equipment and then give the HSA an invoice and we will pay it up to £100.00 for each class. It was decided that reception class needed more money as their budget for this year was £60.00. This is not nearly enough and a minimum of £1000.00 was suggested. ACTION 2 – JACKIE SYMMONS TO CONFIRM WHAT THE BUDGET IS FOR EACH CLASS WITH THE SCHOOL TREASURER. VICKY MACEY IS TO SPEAK TO THE RECEPTION TEACHERS AND ASK THEM TO CREATE A MORE REALISTIC WISH LIST IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE AND EXPLAIN THEY NEED TO ORDER AND WE WILL PAY THE INVOICE.

1. This Terms Activities

i. Cake Sale – 15th February 2017 Sandra Harris is to take the lead with helpers ii. Film Night – 3rd March 2017 Sarah Charlesworth is to take the lead with helpers ACTION 3 - VICKY MACEY TO PURCHASE “TROLLS” DVD AND LIAISE WITH SARAH iii. Easter Egg Hunt – 6th April 2017 ACTION 4 - KATIE TO FOLLOW UP WITH EMMA JEWITT

2. Future Activities

i. Quiz and Curry Night – May 2017 £10.00 per ticket to include curry. It was decided to use disposable items where possible to save washing up. ACTION 5 - VICKY MACEY TO BUY SUPPLIES FROM BOOKERS ii. KS1 Magic Show – June 2017 put the two parties together on the same night one after the other i.e. 3.45pm till 5.30pm then 6.00pm till 7.30pm One magic show and other more music ACTION 6 – VICKY MACEY TO CONTACT MR SPAGHETTI iii. KS2 Disco – June 2017 looking at doing a ticket price and then a tuck shop on the night. The date of 23rd June has been given as most favourable.

3. Any Other Business

a. Jane gave us a list of costs of food etc that the school kitchen can produce i.e. ploughman £2.85 per head, cream tea £1.50 per head, pizza and salad £3.20 per head. Always good to know if we decide to do catering for any functions.

b. Heart campaign for a defibrillator. We agreed to send a letter home to parents giving them the chance to buy a heart for a £1.00. We will make a display in reception and then the money raised goes towards the defibrillator machine. We are looking at putting the machine on the local Co-op as part of the community project; this is due to the school only being open for 190 days in a year. ACTION 7 – KATIE HYETT IS TO PRODUCE THE HEARTS AND A LETTER. VICKY MACEY IS GOING TO SPEAK TO THE CO-OP.

c. It was generally thought that a bright new fresh newsletter would help bring in some new people and to explain what we have already done or brought this year and what we hope to be doing /buying. ACTION 8 – VICKY MACEY AND SAMANTHA WHITE

d. It was also suggested that we hold a coffee and cake meet up for all parents.
