Prior to Change: 2.1.11 Fiber optic cables shall be installed and/or secured in a manner that protects them from damage.

a) The Installation Supplier installing fiber optic cable (OFNR,OFNP, or equivalent) shall inspect, grade (and clean if required) all connector fiber end-faces per the requirements detailed in the TP76461 prior to terminating connectors into bulkheads on FOT panels or mating with another inspected ( per the TP76461 provisions) fiber connector. b) The Installation Supplier shall inspect, clean (if necessary), grade, record and maintain the results of all connector end-faces (A&Z) for any installed connectorized fiber optic cables on the Fiber Connector Inspection and Grading Test Record Form (TP76900) and all required End to End Loss Testing on the TP76900 Optical Data Sheet on cable-only jobs whose scope does not involve mating with other fiber optic connectors. c) The Installation Supplier shall record and maintain the fiber end-face inspections and grading results of all fiber optic connectors on the Fiber Connector Inspection and Grading Test Record Form as part of the required Job Documentation/Yellow Wallet and the Test Records requirements as detailed in Section T of the TP76900.
