Funding available for community groups and charities striving to make Suffolk a safer place

As an independent grant-maker, Suffolk Community Foundation supports local charities and community groups that are tackling disadvantage in whatever form it takes, targeting grants to where the needs are greatest.

With over £10million in grants awarded to more than 2,000 local charities and community groups, Suffolk Community Foundation supports a wide range of charitable organisations that are striving to make a difference across the county.

Created by Suffolk’s Police and Crime Commissioner, the Safer Suffolk Fund supports voluntary and community groups that address the key objectives of the Police and Crime Plan for Suffolk 2013 – 2017, such as responding to emergencies, solving crime, preventing and reducing crime and anti-social behaviour and caring for victims and vulnerable people.

The Safer Suffolk Fund is managed by Suffolk Community Foundation and provides grants of between £1,000 and £20,000 to support the work of voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations that are working to help make Suffolk a safer place to live, work, travel and invest in. Deadline for applications to this fund is Thursday 12th March 2015.

If you would like to apply for funding contact Sue Wright on 01473 786917 who will be happy to offer funding advice. For further information, including deadline dates, guidelines and application forms for all of Suffolk Community Foundation’s grant PRESS INFORMATION programmes visit www.suffolkcf.org.uk. Please note that usually a grant from this fund would not exceed 10% of the organisation’s total income, however some exceptions may be allowed for start-up groups and grassroots organisations.
